I hate to say this, as I pay thousands every year for my family's season tickets, but Al Davis doesn't deserve to see another winning season as long as he's alive. His display today was that of a coward! He couldn't meet the man face to face to fire him and then blamed all of his poor football decisions on a guy who has at least given us some hope that things were headed in the right direction. There should be signs all over the coliseum denouncing the vendictive, senile old man at the next home game. What kind of a person is Cable also? Kiffin brings him here and interviews for him job? Every one of the guys that Kiffin hired should have refused to interview!

I don't give two shyts about what anybody thinks. Truth of the matter is, I like how Tom Cable reacted to the Q and A session during the PC. I especially like the fact that he has been a Raider fan since childhood. That's like me coaching the team accept with a higher football IQ. I like his fire and passion. His comments regarding the bond between him and the O line and the fact that he will build the same bond with the entire team. Things like this do seem disasterous when taken at face value but things like this can also make a team's bond tighter. I hope this turns out to be a big positive for the team and organization. You guys that want to run around with all these negative threads keep it up. I don't look at it that way. I don't have time to be bitter and bitch and whine about the state of the Raiders. I will keep hope and remain positive about the team that I love. I could give a shyt about what anyone else thinks. Good look with your mud slinging campaign...

Having a HC that fights a war with the org that pays him every day in front of the media is also a disgrace.

Having a HC that doesnt let his franchise QB throw more then 3 times in a half of football is also a disgrace.

Having a HC that gives up on a game and only hopes the kicker will miss and thrashes his TOs is also a disgrace.

Having a HC that attempts a 76 yards FG at the end of a half when he could have tried to get closer is also a disgrace and an insult to the whole team and fans.

Lane Kiffin made himself a shame of a NFL HC and I dont have any respect left for him. His problems with Al where probably legit, but the way he handeled himself in this situation was not right. You can say whatever you want, but calling out your employer, collegues and players is not what a man does. And then you take in consideration his game management wich was a flat out joke.... how could anyone that calls himself a fan of the Oakland Raiders endorse that kind of BS???

Im not saying that Al is perfect and the way things are runned in Oakland are good by any means, but I dont think you can put it all on one side either.

A HC is supposed to be a leader. Deflecting blame and complaining publicaly is not what a leader does. A leader takes all the bullets on him. A leader doesnt divise, a leader unites. A leader doesnt embarrass those under him, he motivates them or kicks them in the ass in private. I think Tom Cable is that kind of man and Im behind him and this team 100% no mather what!

TBpup is on a distinguished road
Most of what I write is covering an NBA team but I have bled Silver and Black for 35 years, was born in the Bay area and no matter where I've lived, have proudly been a Raider fan. And that will continue....however.

A once proud franchise is now a laughing stock whether I like it or not. Five coaches in six years, it can't all be the coaches fault. I loved it when Al was a maverick, when he went toe-to-to with Rozelle, when he took chances on players that no one else would. But times have changed.

The front office is a myopic shambles, the scouting system is one of the worst in the league and solid football people won't come to Oakland. Bill Parcells has made a team better everywhere he has gone and I would have loved it if he could have come to Oakland and done the same for the Raiders he has done everywhere else....but he wouldn't even consider it. Cower won't coach here, neither would Bellichek if offered. Not saying that any of those men are the end all answer but they are proven football entities that would laugh at the mere suggestion of being part of the Raider organization at this point.

I hope Cable turns it around...like I hoped Shanahan, Shell, White, Bugel, Callahan, Turner, Shell (again) and Kiffin would. The only coach since Flores to bring the Raiders back to their glory was basically run out of town. He couldn't take it either and "Chucky" was beloved by Raider fans. That is eight coaches in thirteen years.

No one wants to see the Raiders return to greatness more than I do but I'm sadly afraid that will not happen until the next owner....try as I might to hope otherwise.

So I will continue to be a fan and hope for the best, praying that the old definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result) somehow doesn't play out just once. There is a lot of young talent on this team. A solid front office and coaching staff is a must.

Good luck Tom...

TB

why is a disgrace to fire a coach who lost 15 out of 20 games?????

they laughed 15 times the last 20 weeks.......

I liked him, lane is young and I think he could be a better coach in the future but who knows....

fire a 5-15 coach with a bad relationship with assistant and owner has sense for me

our best coach, tom cable , now is in charge, let's give him a chance cause winning is the onlly way to shut up haters.

Who cares? Al told it like he saw it. Move on. The Media loves to portray Al as some senile lunatic. I don't see it. It's the Raiders, the team everybody loves to hate...kick'em when they're up, kick'em when they are down. BTW, Don Bank's is still an a**hole...

Give up your tickets so a Raider Fan can use them.

Laugh at us all you want....but there are only a handful of teams in this league that are worthy....Teams that have as much history as the raiders or at least the amount of superbowls.

Plenty of worse teams with no tradition

So if your employee goes to the press, other people and reporters to vent instead of going to you, you are in the wrong for calling them on it?

I own a biz and Al Davis did the right thing; he is super smart in legal matters and this isn't his first rodeo. Anyone that can sue the NFL and win; can sue two cities and win? He knows whats up.
