NFL Total Access to talk about the Raiders NOW!
I didn't see this posted. I think it's a re-air from earlier today. I'll let you know what they say.

They said that we are one of the few teams under the Radar and that on paper it looks like we can make some noise in the AFC west. Rod Woodson was showing us some love (like always). He said that we are a young team and most of our success starts with the Defense and then the running game with McFadden. And He said its going to depend on JRussell's progression too.
oh here's the video:

Rod Woodson and Rich Eisen discussing 5 teams that are flying under the radar...
Eagles
Seahawks
Bills
Cardinals
RAIDERS... Rich is saying that on paper we can make some noise. Rod says that our defense needs to step up but the season will be determined by Russell. Talked about McFadden and his versatility. Woodson finished up by saying that the Raiders have a young and talented team and they should (quote) " forget about the past and look forward to the future."

WHAT!! man you are crazy
Staring
JaMarcus Russell as Drew Bledsoe waiting to get injured so he can be overtook by Andrew (Tom Brady) Walter
Miller great future TE = fat TE Wiggens
Billicheck= retread Kiffen second year
Zone defensive Principles vs our man principles
Arrogant fan base vs passionate fan base
Patriots virtually trash almost entire history.........Raiders winningest team in Pro Football.. well at least hopefully after this season we should be ahead of the Dolphins again

I think he meant it more like this... - Russell like Brady is in his 2nd year in the NFL after not playing much his rookie season. Russell has the tools to be better then Brady, only question is will he have the ability to grasp the mental side of being a NFL QB. All signs so far say yes.
- Walter is very similar to Bledsoe as they both have strong arms but aren't very mobile at all.
- Kiffin is in his 2nd year as HC while Bellichick was in his 2nd year as HC both having bad seasons their 1st year with the team. NE was 5-11 while Oakland was 4-12. Who cares what Bellichick did with Cleveland, it is a different team...
- NE lost a lot of close games in 2000, Oakland lost a lot of close games in 2007.
- Both teams had Rob Ryan coaching their defensive and like the Raiders New England was not very good against the run in 2000.
- In 2001 NE began using the big nickel package a lot and that helped their defense which is what signs point to us using this year.
- NE had average WRs at best just as we see in Oakland right now.
- Not many people expected a lot from NE in 2001 just like people are sleeping on the 2008 Raiders.
Will Oakland be able to duplicate what NE did? Odds say no but here are some more interesting facts... - New England was not good defending the run in 2000 or 2001. The area that they improved in 2001 was turnovers which is what Kiffin's main focus has been this year.
- New England did not have RBs with the talent of McFadden or Bush in 2001.
- New England didn't have a TE like Miller in 2001 in fact Miller produced more last year then their starter (Rutledge) did his entire career.
- NE did not have a DL who produced double digit sacks like Burgess. Clemons had more sacks for us last year then Hamilton who lead NE in sacks in 2001.
- Light was a rookie who gave up 10 sacks in 2001, if Harris gives up this many it is going to be his 1st time with double digit sacks. Eventually Light became a very good LT but at this point he was far from being good.
- In 2000, NE gave up 48 sacks, in 2001 they gave up 46 both years they gave up more sacks then we gave up in 2007.
Does this mean we will win the SB in 2008? No, but at the same time there is reason for hope...
