Does it concern you that Kiffin refers to Russell as "the quarterback"
I have noticed that many times during interviews that Kiffin refers to Jamarcus as "the quarterback" instead of just "Jamarcus" or "Russell".
This sounds like Parcells when he was referring to TO as "the player".
Is there some beef going on between Kiff and Russell or am I just making something out of nothing? What do you think?

Something out of nothing it would seem. If anything Kiffin doesn't refer to many players by name when they aren't screwing up. It is probably an effort by him to not give attention to one player but the entire team.

Dude, you are making something out of nothing, if he called him Jamarcus would be asking why he is calling him that and not the quarterback?

I wouldn't because calling him Jamarcus is normal, it's not normal to refer to a player by their position rather than their name (unless of course you're playing Madden). I have never heard in real life aside from Kiffin someone refer to a specific person like that.

something out of nothing. he sometimes refers to him by name and sometimes by position when it makes sense in the context of what he is saying.

I think it is refreshing and might limit the potential of us hearing Russel refer to himself in the third person like so many of these other self absorbed dimwits.

It seems to be getting worse.
I don't know if it is an average poster age thing, or something else.

I think Kiffin loves Jamarcus. Non-issue imo.

“You’ve got to be willing to release people,” Kiffin said. “When guys are in the training room, they’re not out here practicing, you’ve got to be willing to release ‘em and live with it and pick other people up for more competition.”
How's that for refreshing?
Like eating a York peppermint patty..

Maybe...
Kiffin just likes to keep things generic.
