Man it does sound like you have been away way for a hell of a long time. Okay, let me fill you in a bit.
Russell is most definitely our man. He started the last game of the season against the Chargers at the HOT last year, and played pretty well. He was guaranteed at the post game press conference after the game by Lane Kiffin that Russell would be starting at quarterback next season.
We are going to use a heap of running backs this season. We drafted Darren McFadden, a home run hitter out of Arkansas. Michael Bush is also looking in great shape and of course we signed Huggy Bear. I'm expecting Fargas to start and share the majority of his carries with McFadden. Look for Michael Bush to enter the game on goal line situations and on short yardage situations. I'm expecting McFadden to start after the bye this season.
No, we didn't get Troy Polamalu, the long haired safety from the Steelers, but we did pick up
Gibril Wilson on the first day of free agency for a 6 year 39 million dollar deal. He will play strong safety, whilst Michael Huff is moving to free safety where he can use his speed and coverage skills more effectively.
Our TE is Zach Miller, and he will be used frequently this season. Russell has developed a connection with Miller over last season, and this showed in Russell's first start last season, where Miller got 8 catches for 84 yards. Expect him to become one of the go to guys on offense for us this year.
Our go to guy this season will be wide receiver.
Javon Walker. Walker played for the Broncos and Packers before joining the Raiders. He has been injured in the past but he is said to be healthy and raring to go this season. We paid him a deal worth 55 million over 6 years, with great expectations of becoming our number one receiver for Russell. If Walker is fit and healthy, expect a good year from him.
We will blitz more this season. We traded for Deangelo Hall so he is on the other side opposite Nnamdi at corner. We have the best secondary in the league, so we will be able to blitz and leave our corners one on one regularly.
Hope this has helped a bit.
