Bottom line is this. If Al don't pay him someone else will. Nnamdi is going to be a very rich man and a pro bowl CB in the future for someone.

Wow, that dude is all class. He has as high character as any guy we've had. It won't go unnoticed by Al either imo. This is the first step towards a long-term deal.

He was already franchised!
he cannot negotiate a new deal during year after signing a franchise tender?

Nope!! The Raiders had their shot and didn't get a deal done before the deadline. Now they have to wait until the season ends.

Superb news!
Thank you Al Davis for not giving up the franchise tag option for next year. However, lets hope a big Raider Pay Day and career long deal for Aso in 2009.
I dont think Nnamdi wanted to be rusty and let DeAngelo Hall think he's the man! Boy we are goin the be spoiled with these two this year.....

My thoughts exactly! This kid has an attitude you can build a contender around. Let's hope Al will do the right thing and sign him to a long-term deal!

Aso continues to make decisions and represent himself in a way that would make and organization proud! Show the man some money and build around his character.
