not a bad signing. we need depth at teh saffety spot big time. wesley isnt that bad of a player. some people jus want all-pros at every position including backups. doesnt happen that way.

I don't see the problem. Believe me I am the poster child for hollering about stopping the run and beefing up the D Line but this is a solid move. Along with the fact he knows the Chiefs offense and defense..Win/Win

I agree he can be useful, and i like him better than Eugene or Branch (right now), but i'd rather try my luck with those two and sign someone like grady, then go after Wesley later...w/e though.

His contract is $730,000 with no signing bonus. No risk. We will have to cut Lamont or someone to sign Grady. I am sure he wants 1-2 Million.

This probably the way Al sees it too.
I think this is the closest thing I have ever read that explains the Al Davis mindset.

Anyone else think this is more a move to gather information on the Chiefs than filling a DB spot?

Cool move....anytime you get a guy that was unhappy at a rival team...It motivates him to kick some A vs. his old team....Hope he pans out and throws his body around vs the run game....

Adding some depth to a thin position + Info on a division opponent = great pickup.
especially on the cheap
