Wow!!! While I want to say yes I am finding myself in agreement with the points DBM made. This is a FAN SITE, run by FANS, held together by FANS...etc.
Although things are said to be the same the Organization will no doubt get their hands in it and do some changing. Some changes would be great but then some would be bad in my opinion. I like the fact that I am a mod and I do my best to make sure the site is running smoothly but at the same time I enjoy being able to joke and smakk with my friends and not have someone say "You are a mod you shouldn't be doing this or that..blah blah blah" because foremost I am a Raiders fan. I like the idea that I try to do my best to enforce the rules (respectably) but at the same time I can be myself and have friends and joke around. If I had to change that due to them then I'd feel like a "sell out" so to speak. No disrespect intended...just my own beliefs.
It's like DBM said we are already a GREAT site and fans brought this place to where it is....why do we need to have an "Official" title? The added title won't make this place great......it already is, imo.
So while I'm not saying yes..I'm also not saying no.........I'm just looking at it from all angles and I won't vote at this time. hahahaha. But whatever happens, if ever, I'm cool

I voted no because if we became official Al would have a say so in how this board was run. F--- that! Lets just stay the unofficial official message board of the Oakland Raiders.

with them having multiple sites (Global/International) this would open this site even more to fans who are around the Globe..
win...win situation if you ask me.

If it's the official board, are we going to be censored? lol

I voted NO. While it sounds cool on paper to be listed as the "Official" Message Board of the Oakland Raiders, I have to imagine that things on the board would NOT stay the same as they are now.
I hear BK's point that this is just a simple question that assumes the site wouldn't change much if the board became the "official" message board. I just can't see how the Oakland Raiders would allow anyone or any website to put the "official" Raiders name and logos on the site without the team having major input in how the site is run. They would probably want at least some input over who posts and what may be posted.
Plus, how would the team feel about the "inside" sources that RF.net currently has "on staff" (WillisDaRaider) who provide RF.net with inside info that's not meant for the general public to read about?
It sounds kinda cool to be officially affilliated with the team, but I just can't imagine that it would bring anything beneficial to RF.net. The only plus I can think of right off the top of my head is that there would be a link to this site from Raiders.com, which could lead to more members. And I suppose being the "Official" Fan Message Board might even force the Raiders to allow the site to use the Raiders logo. Otherwise, I just imagine more restraints than anything.

Actually WillisDaRaider is not a member of our staff... He's just someone who loves our community and chooses to share info that will not hurt the team in anyway

I thought it already was hehe, but really it might open some doors as far as media that could be posted and so on. Now all that is left is to lobby to the Raiders and see what happens.

Hitman... Think about this - what do you think would happen if Al is getting some water from the water cooler and hears someone say that they just read that someone posted on "Al's" Raiders.com official Raiders fan site the following: "Al Davis needs to die so the Raider can return to greatness"... which has been posted here on several occasions?
Half the members in RF.net do not like Al or they do not like his decisions... That's a recipe for horrible things to come!

I'm sure Davis has heard worse, while I don't condone posters wishing death upon the guy, if people are worried what Davis will think or what the organization will think then censoring certain comments is a bad thing...
