Im 6'2 270 and i'm not Fat. its has to do with body type. I think Russell could hold 290 nicely on his frame and would be a bitch to tackle.

What exactly is wrong with Kelley's knee from last season? The team just spent a ton of money on him. That could be scary.

As Hitman stated, it was a torn ACL. The ACL is responsible for the stability of the knee, in particular, laterally. 15-20 years ago if you had that injury, your career was typically over. These days you can come back pretty good with a lot of rehab. Usually it takes a year before you are feeling normal and considering he injured it in the middle of the season, we may not see the normal Tommy Kelly until the year is half over.
Everyone heals differently and pro athletes have the advantage of focusing on just the rehab process, so you never know. The re-tear rate of a recconstructed ACL is only about 1-3%, so the chances of it happening again are rare. He is 300lbs, however, so he could be a little more at risk.

You better be yoked as hell then, cause 270lbs is a lot for a 6'2" guy. I'm 6'3", 240 and I consider myself overweight, even though I have muscles...

Really it just depends on your body type. i have a wide frame, large shoulders small midsection. Really if you saw me you wouldn't think i weighed 270 its all about how the weight is distributed. Thats why i thought it was impossible that Russell weighed less than 270 since he was in High school. He looked every bit of 300 in the 2 games he played and his LSU games. People don't realize that athletes and coaches lie about there weight. Its more important to be fit than to target a specific number, because when a athlete starts losing weight the first thing that goes is there muscle. And a athlete that trains year-Round has to maintain there strength, hence the necessity of fat and muscle.
