There is absolutely no excusable reason for the Raiders to screw up getting McFadden signed on time. The contract numbers are so clearly slated based on last year's numbers and the draft number.

The #4 pick will get slightly more than last year's #4 pick (Gaines Adams). The 2008 #4 pick will get slightly less than the #3 pick (Ryan) and slightly more than the #5 pick (Dorsey). The range will be as clear as day. For a contract to not get done will be totally unacceptable and negligent.

I am confident that there will no problem getting McFadden signed on time and ready to roll.

Not quite clear as day because skill position players command more than linemen etc. But the main thing is Al realizes time is running out on his championship chances and he's in no mood to dick around. My guess is he'll do what it takes to get his gamebreaker in there on time, it wouldn't matter if his agent was Elmer Fudd.

Al was tossing around massive contracts like it's nothing this offseason. He knows McFadden can come in right away and contribute, he wants to win NOW, I don't see any reason why we should have a holdout on our hands.
