Why is everyone under the impression that just because you are not bulky you are bound to fail in the NFL. Look at Chad Johnson.
I am starting my personal training career right now and I am learning a lot.
First of all I can tell you that McFadden is on the skinny side. His metabolism is in great shape. He also has a lot of lean muscle which is better than bulk any time. Lean muscle is more flexible, it allows him to obtain full range of motion and thats a must when you are a running back. Stockier running backs might be more powerfull but are not as flexible and due to their weight they have slowed down. Now there are exceptions to this but generally this applys to many rbs today.
I would take a leaner guy over stockier any day. Chances of injury are not as equal either. Leaner guy would have more flexibility and more muscle to help fend of an impact as to where a bulkier guy might not have as much muscle for that, or the muscle is shorter.
Overall your body structure has a lot to do with your genetics. There are those skinnier longer muscle guys and there are those stockier shorter muscle guys. You just have to make it work for ya. However, saying that just because he doesn't have as much bulk in his legs and dissmissing him for getting hurt is somewhat ignorant in my book.
Not trying to start **** though because this is a very well known missconseption.

I also agree that DMC has skinny ass legs. Those same legs haven't let him down yet. There is concern tho cuz his in the NFL now, bigger & stronger defenders. We'll see how his legs hold up.
