Interesting take...

I am asking the fans of the Jets and Patriots: what would you give up to make a deal with the Raiders to get a shot at drafting Vernon Gholston? The Chiefs are in front of both of you and if the Raiders do not trade and take McFadden, then you must deal with the Chiefs! You are on the clock. Would you trade up or sit right where you are and evaluate trading down? Remember Jets fans…the possibility of drafting a star player in a position of need is sitting right there in front of you. But, you will have to trade up that one or two spots to pick him.

Thank you for the Thread/Post. It is a very interesting article. Saw V (NFL Style) LoL!!!
It is a very interesting concept that this guy is suggesting. Maybe the nyj are after gholston, with the belief that the pats will want him. Depending on how the first 4 picks of the draft turn out, they may have a shot at him.
I still have a hunch that the nyj are going to try to make a play at McFadden. But we'll see what happens.
Very interesting article.

If McFadden is there at 4 we almost have to trade out..we'll be able to fill some of the positions of need if we do.

If Davis is enamored with McFadden, I wouldn't wager on it. Yes, there are several positions of need, but you don't pass on a talented player because you have a variety of needs at several positions.

Agreed. Too many times we draft for need and it gets us nowhere. Take the best guy available at the time. McFadden would be a huge pick I think. Very versatile and fast with good vision. I don't think C.Long or Dorsey will be there at 4. Who knows, but Mcfadden would be a great weapon to have. Fargas won't be around forever(or for even a complete season)as much as I like the guy.

What fans fail to see is you upgrade with McFadden, while I like Fargas and Rhodes and Bush has yet to play a game, McFadden is high on most draft boards and if he's available at 4 I believe Davis picks him...

Davis made his choice after seeing McFadden run his 40 time.

How can we lose really? Draft McFadden or trade out for a host of draft picks/players to fill needs with solid prospects? Man, this should be a hard draft for the Raiders to **** up, but time will tell.

Isn't that the truth... but like always we'll have to sit and watch it unfold...

just don't take Gholston and I'll be happy. Dorsey, McFadden, Long or trade should be the only options.

In Pat Kirwan's mock draft, he has Oakland trading down to #6 and taking McFadden. He has the jets at #4 taking Gholston.
This goes along perfectly with that article and what is said about the rivalry between the nyj and the pats.
Also explains why if AL is infatuated with McFadden, he would trade down to #6 for a player. Both these articles together explain a lot. Maybe nyj is bluffing. We wont know till the Draft, but this is a Great possibility.
Props bro, great thread. Got me thinking!!!!
-I'm still going to keep my eyes on the nyj, see if they're not targetting McFadden. Also, still dont know if AL would trade down. The chefs could draft McFadden and have some great trade bait. I dont think AL would want that.

Even if we only trade down with the Jets it seems like a VERY wise thing to do. They move up and grab (most likely Gholston) we drop 2 spots... KC is most likely going to take Matt Ryan or trade down for offensive lineman. then we can (if it's the plan) take Mcfadden, or even Gholston (if the Jets grab Mcfadden)at the 6 spot AND pick up a player from the Jets. Plus, taking them with the 6th pick instead of the 4th we save some much needed cash. The monkey wrench in this would be who would (if KC wants to drop down) the team that trades up want... I really imagine KC wants Ryan.. I don't think they are convinced Croyle is their man.
The difference last year from #4 to #6 was about $5 Mill in contract value (same amount of years).
