Some of you act as if I damaged this guy for life, no there's nothing wrong with people being enthused, but I guess my point is how about waiting to see if this combination is going to do anything first, let's see some wins first, and if you feel compelled to give them a nickname fine. I personally don't see the need for it and worse I don't see how it makes the team any better... For whatever reason some fans think having a nickname is such a novel idea and really it isn't. It's almost XFL mentality...

Now, did I say he couldn't post his opinion? not at all, merely said, they don't really need a nickname, and that was it... I didn't even say it was childish, I guess where I'm coming from is usually the people that complain about the media, seem to be trying very hard to emulate the very principals they dislike daily...

yeah but who are u and who am i to decide wether or not they need a nickname, granted they need a whole HELL of alot more than a nickname, i think the OTA was just psyched bout the whole deal and thought this up, i dont think its right to blast his opinion and make it seem like "skynet" is gonna make us 19-79...p

point taken on the media thing but IMO a nickname is something positive whereas if the media gave us a nickname it would be more like "hall n asshole"

XFL mentality.

Shoot me now if we're turning into the XFL. Except for He Hate Me. I thought that was clever and I'm very disappointed Smart didn't work out better for us.

I'm not a huge fan of nicknames myself. There are few I really like over the last 40 years or so I've been watching football (not including time in the womb - we didn't have womb-cams when I was there). Steel Curtain and Purple People Eaters are about the only two I can think of that worked for me. Not a good track record.

But if people want to come up with nicknames, have at it. It's better than starting new McFadden threads.

I agree, but as I said to Vanhusen, if someone posts something and then doesn't want the backlash or ribbing then perhaps to rethink the thread is all I suggested, hell I've been vocal about every thread suggesting nicknames, so that's just me. Not picking on the guy, not bullying, just expressing an opinion.

I won't disagree about all the McFadden threads, but I guess when you post a thread like this you have to expect the good and the bad...

When you post any thread you have to expect the good and the bad!

And lately... you have to expect it to degenerate into a McFadden thread.
