This is good. Cromartie is young, good, but young, and I think teams tried to pick on the youngster and got burnt, which is why he didn't make my list. Let's see what he does this year and I'll reassess my opinion then. Bailey is very good, but over rated IMO. He's definitely not the best. There are others out there that are slipping my mind right now. None the less CB is the toughest job in the league IMO.

I'd take any of those 5 in their prime against any of the current 5 on some of these lists...

I would have taken many a Steeler defensiveman on the Raiders.

So many good corners out there I would not know who to pick from Asante Samuel, Harris, Hall, Nnamdi, Woodson, Bailey, Cromartie and and Mathis.

2007 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 78 | Key
Alert: None

Comment: Asomugha has excellent size to go along with top-end speed. His foot quickness and agility are adequate but he has a little stiffness in his hips and knees. He is better from a bump-and run-alignment where he can trail the receiver as opposed to pedaling and trying to extend the cushion, then opening his hips to get out of the pedal and close on the ball. He looks a bit tight in transition and often loses a step on the receiver, but has enough explosive quickness and speed to make up the difference. He struggles a bit from man-off as he is not yet good at route recognition or reading the quarterback?s eyes and getting a jump on the ball. He is strong and has long arms that allow him to jam receivers or re-route them when he is able to get a hand on them. He is a strong tackler and is not afraid to come up and force the run. Last season was a breakout for Asomugha as he came up with eight interceptions after being shutout his first three years in the league, and though he has come a long way in terms of playing the ball he is still a work in progress.
thats not updated because if u go to FA tracker at espn under scouting he is a 88 they wont update it again till the begining of the season!

Quote:
Grade 88

Expert's Take Asomugha is a six-year veteran out of California who was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2003 draft. He has been a solid starter for the past three years and had a breakout year in 2006 coming down with eight interceptions but slipped a bit in 2007 coming up with just one. He has excellent size for the position as well as premier top-end speed. He is a bit stiff in the hips and knees and does not pedal with ease to extend the cushion. He often has to bail early as receivers can close the cushion on him and he is not real fluid or quick in transition. He plays better in a trail alignment than when in man/off or in zone where he can use his speed to stay in the receivers hip. He does not show great route awareness and does not get a great jump on the ball from zone. He has the ability to use his size and long arms to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage or re-route them after the release but does not look real confident in his skills. At times it looks like he is too afraid to make a mistake to take any chances. He is still a better athlete than football player but he is improving.
