I don't see why it has to be so complicated! Kiffin doesn't HAVE to be fired.

And why the hell would he be in Oakland in the offseason - he lives in Alabama!

The part in bold should be more troubling to Raiders fans than JR's weight, because apparently it's true.....the Raiders haven't seen JR for awhile.
Most NFL QB's today, especially young first-round picks, spend the offseason working out and learning at their team's facilities. Please forgive me, but take Phillip Rivers for example. He's at Chargers' Park everyday.
Perhaps the dysfunction within the Raiders' organization is the reason JR hasn't been around. Maybe he's not really to blame. But whatever the reason, the fact that he's absent from the team facilities is a bad sign, IMO.

I don't blame this buy for hating Al a little bit. Al called him Chinese in a press conference but this guy's Japanese. Big slight.
Other than that this article is unfortunately a pretty accurate assessment.

#8 is horse****. "He has played it right. He’ll probably keep playing it right… and that is not good news for Davis." Played it right, my ass.

I didn't read the article so i don't know the reasons why but what i do know is that I want Kiffin coaching this team for the next 4 years and let's rate him after that after all he won more games than he previous allbeit only4 it's an improvement his job was good considering the players he was given and he kept us in alot of games and gave us the lead in the 4th quarter and that fat guy with long hair couldn't hold his own jockstrap and allowed the other team to score! KEEP KIFFIN TILL 2012 AND THAN LET'S HAVE A CONVERSATION!

That is what common sense dictates, but common sense has been a rare commodity in Oakland lately.

Though I generally find his articles to be poor journalism, the basis of the article is still a valid one. In my opinion I see no reason for Al to play these games. If Kiff is staying, say so, if he is leaving, make it so. Leaving it out there, open ended, and riff for speculation, bears no tangible benifits. With the exception that a team that has been horrid recently gets media coverage it otherwise would not. In any event, the speculation should be ended by action. Keep him and say so, or, fire him and say so. That would be the common sense thing to do, but as Hitman noted, common sense has been anything but common in Raiders central...

You are correct Wookie, it makes no sense or has no immediate benefit for the Raiders unless it's just to get media coverage, but there are several ways to go about that, rather than play this game... it certainly doesn't make the franchise look as if they know what they are doing.
