Back-up, special teams etc. - cheap price - i'm fine with that. Otherwise, he doesnt fit our needs as a starter.

Explain? I know our run d., how our LBs play the run, their attributes vs the run etc., but this is a guy who is going on 31, and was playing like he was older. He was ok at strong side LB for the Texans last season in part time duty, and when starting a few games, as he and C.Anderson split time. Texans did well, but Clark was nothing to write home about. They were starving to find an OLB, Anderson couldnt keep his job, so Clark stepped in.
He does have his deficiencies, and the Texans are now starved at OLB, as that is a priority, but facts are, they are in no rush to bring back Clark or bowl him over the bring him back. He is a bust his tail type player. GOOD. He is a fighter and a tough guy. GOOD. But lets be honest, he is not full-time starter. Now, you want to justify injecting him here and there and scheme accordingly with him and other LBs - no problem. But he IMO is not a guy you keep out there for many reps. |

Giants signed LB Danny Clark, formerly of the Texans.
While it's clear Clark hasn't been more than an average starter, he's put up numbers when given the chance. Clark will likely be the Giants' main backup at both outside positions, behind Mathias Kiwanuka and Gerris Wilkinson. -Rotoworld |
