Talking I have decided..
Hey family..I have been thinking long and hard about this, but i have chosen to join the military and become part of the Navy Law Enfocement. I will very soon talk to my recruiter before i go..but i just wanted to say that this Message board and people who manage it or even just posters are greatly appreciated..I am a DIE HARD Raider fan and i plan on useing this site as much as possible to keep updated when gone.

One other thing, I was promised by my father to get a Raiders tatoo on my back before i leave for bootcamp...i will post pictures soon before my leave.

Don't get the tat until after bootcamp. When my friend's son got his Raiders tattoo, in between enlisting in the Navy and just before bootcamp, the recruiter had to take him on a special trip to Sacramento to be questioned and have it photographed to make sure it wasn't gang related, racial, and also for identification purposes. It was the Raiders logo with a skull, and the words Win, Lose , or Tie Raiders 'til I die. His recruiter advised him not to get anymore until afterwards.

I guess you could get it prior to enlisting....ask your recruiter.

Navy bootcamp was easy 20 years ago, and from what I hear, even easier now; The CC's can't even call you names anymore, they have to call you by your name or just Recruit. Dickheads, was supposedly outlawed

Also, you used to have a choice, as far as where to attend BC, but the San Diego and Florida Recruit Training bases were closed, leaving Great Lakes as your only option. But the good news is your company will be co-ed. ( That may be why they banned the name calling; Women don't get their heads shaved and therefore don't resemble a walking and talking penis) Carry on and good luck.

Congratz bro, I am enlisted in the Coast Guard (6 1/2 years now)and it was the best descision I have ever made. If they give you an option after Boot camp go directly to an "A" SCHOOL. Then I would choose to go to a ship (you will never meet as many life long friends as you do on a ship). You will get to travel the world for free ..... there is nothing better than pulling into a foriegn country ready to tear up the town I am serious about the "A" school thing get it in writing that your school is guarenteed out of boot, it will make your life soooooo much easier than reporting to your first unit as a boot. If you can get an "a" school out of boot then you will report to your first unit with some rank already. Good luck bro!
