I think Burgess-Huntley/Moses (Whomever wins the spot) will start. Backups to those guys will be Richardson-Moses/Huntley (whomever doesnt win the spot.) I really think we'll be good at DE. It's DT that I'm worried about.
Burgess- Huntley (Whomever wins the battle between Huntley & Moses)
Richardson- Moses
TIME WILL TELL, we'll see what these guys do when the pads are put on, Training Camp!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. I don't understand why everyone is sooooooo defensive about STU's comments. He's actually on the field with the players and coaches. NFL players can tell amongst them which guy is the best on the field. If STU and the rest of the guys think it's J-Rich because he is impressing everyone the most then I guess we'll find out in due time but for now I believe him.

Only thin Jay Richardson can start is his car. Whatever! I don't know if Schwag was being facitious, an ass, or as the man over there just said, "drunk". I know this guy, he is a prospect I am familiar with, unlike that CB we drafted whose name I still can't remember, nor care to.
If Richardson can beat out Huntley, Moses and Brayton to start, or for that matter if he ends up starting for us in the next couple of years (unless he has all of a sudden worked really hard and changed his entire ability), I will stick my head in between my own knees, bring it around and kiss my own ass.

YEah I agree...
We are light (Weight wise) at DE... But they're saying this is the new in Defensive schemes.... I think it was an ESPN articele (Pasquerelli maybe?)... I will look for it.
ANyhow... It pointed out that the trend from the early ninety's until now was to get bigger and bigger at LT and RT (point at the Ogden's Searcy's and Linc Kennedy's etc... ).
So some D-coordinators, in an effort to counteract the trend... Instead of making DE's grow exponentially with the O-Tackles, they decided to beath the large tackles with the one factor they give up in getting bigger and bigger.
Speed and Explosiveness!
They alluded to the notion that this is why the 3-4 D was finding success in the NFL over the last 10 years, and also why guys like Freeney, Shawne "Steroid King" Merriman, Terrell Suggs (Tweener plays OLB and DE), and Alex Brown were THRIVING at DE in the 4-3.
I gotta admit, while hating listening to Len Pasquerelli talk (If it was in fact him) the articel was DEAD ON.

I only know what I've read about Richardson. I know played for Ohio St. Anyone one on either line for a program like that must of some talent. If Stu says he's playing well at OTA's, then I guess he's playing well. What's the big deal?
On that strand of logic, I didn't like trading a pick for Mario Henderson, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

I too don't like giving up future picks for guys that may take a few seasons to develop. I thought there were better prospects on the board and Henderson just never wowed me in watching him play.

One problem though with that speed and explosiveness. It can cause your ends to be liabilities against the run and let's face it with this front seven. We need all the help we can get in shedding blocks, overpowering lineman and closing those gaps. But I hear what your saying, bro.

Being that he has been at the OTA's and we haven't I will take the comment for what it is. An opinion. One that might have some merit to it with his knowledge of what is going on. But it might also just be an opinion of who he wants to start. So really until Kiffen designates it, there is no story.
But the story of meeting Stu and having a drink with him is very cool. Living in SW Va. I do and will not get many opportunities to do something like that and for that I envy you. Good story man.
