The Oakland Tribune reports Raiders WR Ronald Curry made two spectacular catches in goal line drills Wednesday, both from QB Josh McCown. He appears completely recovered from a hamstring pull suffered during organized team activities. WR Mike Williams (hamstring), C Adam Treu (quadriceps tear) and RB Michael Bush (broken leg) were put through drills running around cones by the training staff. All hope to be ready for training camp. With RB LaMont Jordan absent for personal reasons and RB Dominic Rhodes also staying away, RB Justin Fargas got his most extensive use in practices open to the media and made some decisive runs for good yardage. He also fumbled into the line in a red zone drill, a problem Fargas had in his first two seasons that he seemed to have under control last season. FB Justin Griffith got a few carries as the Raiders were heavy on running plays on the final day of practice. The Raiders have rarely used the fullback as a runner in recent years, with most of FB Zack Crockett's carries coming as a tailback

The Oakland Tribune reports Raiders top pick QB JaMarcus Russell was blunt when asked if the absence of QB Andrew Walter last week (arthroscopic knee was of some benefit. "It has helped a lot," Russell said. "The more reps, the more you see things, the better you become."

All good news except for Fargas' fumble. I think Fargas is really going to have to impress in Training Camp, to make the team. I think Oakland might have a cheaper option with Reshard Lee. Lee can also catch the ball out of the backfield, making him a more viable threat in Coach Kiffin's offense.
Fargas is going to have to fend off Lee. Make or break Training Camp for Justin Fargas.

i have a gut feeling Fargas is not gonna be wearing a Raiders jersey this year. And IF he is it will be as a 4th stringer.

the Raiders already have enough bigger RB's, I dont see lee sticking around to long he didnt really impress me too much, just kinda big and slow, what the raiders need is speed in this system, Fargas just needs to keep the fumbles in check. Dont forget we got bush waiting in the wings also, but if we do get rid of LJ next season I could see lee having a spot.

curry and porter is giong to be a nice duo this year, they were working well together in 04 but curry got hurt, i hope this year with a good TE and a good slot wr, someone like williams, higgins or taylor, along with a better running game they can get the job done.

One of my favorite current Raiders, there shouldn't be any surprises with Curry yet, his quick recovery from that hamstring injury is another pleasant surprise. Here's to Curry staying healthy all season.

I beg to differ.... EVERY opportunity counts. This is kind of line try outs all over again. New coach, staff and players. Everyone is trying to be at the #1 spot. The last thing you want is negative attention.
