Ducks avoid elimination, force Game 6 (AP)

The Ducks aren't dead yet. The defending Stanley Cup champions were quite a lively bunch in forcing Game 6 against the Stars. Teemu Selanne, Ryan Getzlaf and Sean O'Donnell each had a goal and an assist to lead Anaheim to a 5-2 victory over Dallas on Friday night. That trimmed the Stars' lead in the first-round series to 3-2.

Talking

DUCKS WIN DUCKS WIN

Jean-Sebastien Giguere did a good job to keep us afloat by making 40 saves last night. But as good of a goaltender as he is, he is susceptible to the wraparounds in which it causes him to fall down and leave the net open enough for a goal.

Ever since Teemu Selanne came back from his "retirement" earlier in the year, the Ducks have been better.

Mathieru Schneider looked terrible out there, he did a terrible job of clearing the puck on one Penalty Kill that led to a Dallas goal. He also got beat a few times in our zone as well.

BTW, Marty Turco! He got away with so much last night that we have given him a nickname, "Turkey".

I'm predicting the Ducks in 7. The Ducks played solid hockey tonight, and if Giggy plays the same way tonight as he does for the rest of the series, the Ducks will be headed to the second round of the playoffs.

Overall, I believe that Dallas is the only team that will really push the Ducks to their extreme limit. Dallas has been the Ducks' bogey side this season. The Ducks have played very well against good sides such as Detroit, both at home and on the road.

If the Ducks win this series, I can see them getting through to the Stanley Cup Finals again.

Just my $0.02.

Good point, I see the Dallas Stars as being The Hump in 2008 just like Detroit was in 2007. If we can get past Dallas, we should be alright.
