Caps make it in and no one wants a piece of them as hot as they are. Buh Bye, Philly.

I'm thinking the same here without Simon Gagne. The Great 8 is the real deal!

I would love to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions, but it's gonna be tougher to win the cup this year IMHO. Dallas has proven that they are no pushovers. Gonna be tough.

My Montreal Canadiens fear nobody. Go figure that the addition of a Montreal Canadien is what got the Caps in.

Ovechkin being a god is what got them in. We were doing just fine with Kolzig. I will take the extras we got, but I dont think it changed our fate. Kolzig could have won the same games Huet did. But now we have two very solid goalies and a third decent one for the playoffs. Its nice to be loaded.

You must be loaded.

Kolzig was getting you nowhere and won't be a Cap next year. Huet was the pickup of the deadline and the reason The Caps are in. Ovechkin is a good player but a little too much "me, me, me" for my liking. Kinda like Porter only can actually play. Defend him if you must but I felt the same way about Bret Hull. Playoffs have a way of seperating teams and the only thing that is going to save the Caps is goaltending. If they can stick around till the Eastern Final then Montreal will prove it.

Go Habs!!!!!!

I can see the Ducks going all the way again this year. The Ducks get hot for the playoffs, and play very well at home. Getting Scott Niedermayer and Selanne back out of retirement was the best thing for the Ducks, and they have played very well since. Ducks to win their first series in 5.

I hate to admit it but the Ducks do look tough to beat. They have goaltending, defense, offense and they can fight like a #@$%^&@@@!!#. The Sharks always suck in the playoffs but I hope they get their act together this year. They have the players and goaltending the question is heart. Big Joe is a great leader but time will tell.

I have to agree - Huet has been hot as hell. Kolzig is old and crusty. Caps will look very smart if Federov shows up. He can be electric or casper the friendly ghost.

I think the flyers are overall tougher but, Overchick will not let the fans down and he will score many many PP goals with the Flyers taking a lot of bad penalties. I still think they will take it the distance and to be honest it would not be a shocking upset if the Flyers win.

Overall the Caps have the advantage but I would give Philly the edge offensively. The flyers score with all 3 lines and the Caps have struggled when AO struggles.
Goal tending - even, maybe a slight edge to Huet.
The Flyers are not the strongest defensively but the caps are worse. I think this is a weakness for both teams, but give the edge to Philly.
PP - special teams - Caps. I think the Flyers take a lot of bad penalties and give up muchos PP goals and this is where AO scores a lot of goals. If Briere keeps up with his season PP points this will be closer. Briere has a bad wheel so I am interested to see how it goes in game 1.

Briere has taken over series before and he has the ability to win games.

The best thing the flyers have going for them - the Caps are from the southeast division. This to me is the weakest division hands down. The Flyers have played tougher division games and this might be good and might be bad.

There you go Flyers in seven. I flip flop with the best of them.

Go Flyers
