Hi all..

Long time Raider fan..stumbled across this site today and I am excited.

I am planning a trip to watch Oakland play at home this season sometime and I would like some help if anyone can help.

Should I fly into Oakland or San Fran?

Any nicer hotels in the area?

Night life? Should I fly in Friday night, party FRI and SAT night then go to the game on sunday? Is the night life big in Oakland? I'm 26....

Welcome in Jim! What game ya coming in for? The Hilton is really the place to stay in OAK (it's where the team stays), but there are a few other places right next to it (Park Plaza, Holiday Inn).

Depending on what airport you're flying out of, it might be cheaper for you fly into SFO and take the BART around to Oakland. I fly up from Los Angeles and 1/2 the time I fly into SFO because it's cheaper. For the Dolts game on the 28th I am flying into OAK and out of SFO, that's how weird the fares can be.

I say come in early on Saturday. The players start arriving at the Hilton somewhere around 4-5 pm. You can sit in the bar and watch them flow in or dart out there and try to get a sig or pic. You can stay at the Hilton bar that night (sometimes players come in and hang out) or you an try Ricky's. But Ricky's has been so iffy lately, some people (on the boards) have said they aren't going there again. Take that for whatever you want. If you've never been to NorCal, you might want to consider coming in on Friday so you can check out San Fran on Saturday, it's a great City.

The Hilton offers a shuttle to and from the Coliseum, it's like $6 each way if I remember correctly.
There's plenty of tailgating for you to join in on.
