Burstnet.com is causing the super slow load times. Might be part of an ad banner.

burstnet.com is a domain used by Burst Media which is an advertising company that is part of a network of sites, cookies, and other technologies used to track you, what you do and what you click on, as you go from site to site, surfing the Web. Over time, sites like burstnet.com can help make an online profile of you usually including the sites you visit, your searches, purchases, and other behavior. Your profile can then be exchanged and sold between various companies like burstnet.com as well as being sold to other advertisers and marketers.

The top ad that is currently State Farm is using burstnet.com to get data. I installed DO NOT TRACK PLUS and it site is back to normal. BK, look into turning off the top ad banner. Burstnet.com is definitely the problem.

Why was the RF.net mobile version deleted? Not the APP, but when I used to come to the site I'd get the mobile version automatically. Everything was very basic & nice. Now I get everything I'd normally see on the PC & it's real slow.

I removed the header ad for the time being.

It wasn't deleted intentionally but when we performed the latest software upgrade, it removed the Mobile Style. I will have a replacement soon, in the meantime please check out our mobile apps for Apple and Android. Both are free!

Removing the header ad still hasn't fixed the whole problem. It's still taking 65 seconds for my computer to load this page even though my internet speed is currently averaging a blazing 20.1mbps.

According to Do Not Track Plus, the following six things are tracking every visitor who comes to this forum page:

Social Networks - Facebook
Ad Networks - Burst Media
Companies - Google Adsense, Burst Media, SkimLinks and Google Analytics

Can you try browsing the site using a different web browser? You could have a 100mb connection, but that doesn't necessarily mean pages on every website will load quickly. I'm at work and using a 50mb connection and the site loads the same as if I was home on my 6mb DSL connection.

This specific test was done on July 24 at 08:42:39 from Amsterdam, Netherlands. The web page took 5.05 s to load, used 140 requests, and weighed in at 1.6 MB.

The Google Page Speed performance grade for this web page is 68/100

It's definitely faster for me today, BK. Non-scientific observation but night and day. That said, I'm working from home and not in the office - if it was something to do with Akamai or burstnet (as a couple of us suggested) perhaps it's localized. Would explain why we're seeing such mixed results from different people...
