I was listening to Mike & Mike this morning and they were talking about whether they thought Rex Grossman should have been benched during the Superbowl... that got me thinking... has a quarterback ever been benched during a Superbowl and has that team ever won????

I think it's a testament to the fact that Chicago shouldn't have been in the Superbowl when they were still talking about benching their QB

Yes a QB has been benched... Tony Eason, New England Patriots, Super Bowl XX: Went 0-of-6 and was benched for Steve Grogan.

I remember there was a dude that got benched, just forgot who...

Broncos Craig Morton was replaced by Norris Weis....I will think of the others later....

SB III Jets-Colts, Earl Morrall started for the Colts but got benched in the 3rd for Johnny Unitas. He couldn't do anything either and as we all know, the Jets won.

There have been times, of course, when the starter got injured and replaced.

Now I know this is a moot point, kind of a woulda shoulda coulda kind of thing, but does anyone thing Grossman should have been replaced? I think that's just too risky... probably why I'm not an NFL coach!
