At USC it's moreof a well ballanced offense with not too much shotgun but you do see it. As Concord pointed out to you you can run option plays spread offense and shotgun, but in the NFL it's more QB under center(GOOD CALL). What's great is that Mark Sanchez is mobile along with having a good arm. He is more mobile than John David Booty, Matt Leinart, and Carson Palmer that's for sure. He came up big last week in a 52-7 smackdown my boys of Troy laid on Virginia in ther own home.
One caveat though don't think USC is just all about running back U. Sure they have great tailbacks like Joe McKnight as the featured back, CJ Gable and Stephan Johnson(SP). CJ Gable and Stephan Johnson are good enough to start in most D1 schools, but they also get their WR's involved. The only knock on the wr's is that they have a great ammount of tallent, but in Pete Carroll's system it's hard to rack up stats. You got to check your ego at the door because for the most part it's the QB who gets all the stats, but he also will be harpooned by the LA media if he loses just one game.
In a pro style offense you obviously need a good offensive line, good wr's good pass catching and run blocking te's a good rotation of running backs and of course the most important position a solid QB. The only knock on USC is thier "inexperienced 0 line" which played great last week from what I can gather. What people don't understand is that Pete Carroll also loves to use his tight ends and fullbacks as well. Everyone is happy because they all get to touch the football.
