Fans Throwing a bottle onto the field...

WTF...

I just saw a play in the ATL at NO Monday Night game, in which some douche bag in the crowd tossed a beer bottle onto the field.

The Saints had scored a TD, and since they are the home team, they got flagged 15-yards on the ensuing kickoff.

Now, ATL basically started their next possession at midfield.

But my first thought was; lets say the moron who tossed the bottle was a FALCONS fan? Heck, why would a NO fan do it and cost his team yardage, at home after they scored a TD?

I know there is no way to prove who did it unless there is video of the dude/or fat broad, doing it. And if they have a Falcons jersey, it probably wouldnt have mattered.

But whose to say that a team on the road, who has traveling fans, if they do that, and the home teams gets penalized 15-yards all the time, use that as a ploy to help their team gain some yardage? HA...

Now, I don't condone beer bottle throwing, nor do I think it's a smart thing to do. Matter of FACT, I do not endorse this, nor does anyone on this site promote such unruly behavior...

But damn, we may just be able to gain more yards with a few beer bottle tosses during road games than what DHB will get all year catching the football.

Well, as fans it is important to not get so involved in the game, but you make an interesting point, how could the league combat this or what could be done by the commissioner to stop it? It seems like this issue may be one thing that can not be stopped.
