What is a good college major for someone interested in coaching?

I was wondering what anyone with any coaching experience/been around coaching thought is a good college major for someone interested in coaching. It seems that many of my high school coaches majored in education fields (ex: Physical Education/Elementary education, etc), however, in the college ranks, many coaches have studied many different majors (some off the top of my head are that Hayden Fry was a psychology major, I think Lee Corso or Lou Holtz was a Physical Education major). I was just wondering because I think I may have interest in coaching, but I am not sure how interested I would be in teaching (which most high school coaches must do), and was also wondering if one major makes the path to coaching easier, better, etc.

Go to school for teaching and take care of your coaching by experience and clinics... Many schools will hire teachers because they can coach. You get as much experience as you can coaching. If you have to teach to coach then get a teaching degree in your strengths.

Pimpwin is on a distinguished road
Talk to a local coach, and ask them how they got there and what not.... I talked to my Coach at my former high school, cuz I too aspire to be a coach, and he said to go to the clinics...
Also, start from the bottom. 2 years ago, I coached a flag football team for the YMCA(2nd and 3rd graders), and its tougher than ya think. At that level, you just really are teaching basics and fundamentals...
Right about now, Im actually going to goto a little league coach and see if maybe I could just kinda be a helper and learn from them, and get some insight on how it is to be a coach....
Other than that man, you probably wanna study PE, learn the body, and other various things... but best of luck to ya becoming a coach, never met anyone else that wanted to besides me... =D
