    You kick it as it's bouncing off the ground...thats as much as I know.

    Ill tell you what it is....its kinda like a trick play.....set up in a formation that seems like your gowin for 2 points then have the QB kick it in for the Extra point....Its basically pointless!

    The drop kick first was used in the 1910's and was a big part of football

    The Drop kick was made famous by Jim Thorpe; it was used in the 1910's and was a big part of pro football in the 1920-1930's and lessened somewhat after that.

    It actually was a stat until 1963. The longest one was 50 yards.

    Jim McMahon was known to be able to drop kick up to 60 yards and during a Bears blow out, McMahon had Ditka convinced it was o.k. to do it but on third down, the Bears fumbled and he never got a chance. McMahon also had a chance when he was with the Chargers I think but again, the coach at the time wouldn't let him after thinking about it.
