The rule that saves Plummer's ass every game.Originally Posted by De-Cleater
The problem is not with the tuck rule per se, just the application of it in that case. I officiate high school football and I understand what this rule is supposed to mean. The idea is that technically a pump fake is the start of a pass until the pass is stopped. The rule is there to eliminate the "Was he pump faking or actually passing" judgment call by the official for a loose ball. The rule states that if the QB's arm is moving forward it is incomplete and that the action is an attempted pass until the ball is "tucked" to the body. Once the ball has stopped moving forward and the QB is holding the ball again, any loose ball is a fumble.
That being said, Brady clearly did tuck the ball away. In all the replays and in the photo linked above, I saw Brady's other hand come up and meet the ball. In my book, that's a tuck. Technically the rule says he has to bring it to his body to stop being an attempted pass but the last time checked, the hand is a part of the body. I believe that hack coleman completely blew the call because he thought it had to come all the way down to the body like a RB might carry the ball. In our officials association meetings we talk all the time about the spirit and intent of a rule vs. the letter of the rule. Rest assured that the guys who call games by the letter of the rule get sent out to the low level games, far away, on the ****ty fields. In my mind this was a horrible misinterpretation of the rules at best, and an outright screw job at worst. I wonder if coleman bet on the gaytriots or had Gotti's hand up his ass.

Then on NFL network Rich Eisen talks to the head of officiating and he says there is no difference between Plummer’s and Brady’s. Bullsh!t they even stopped it on the frame were Brady’s hand(s) were on the football. Unbelievable. Plummer’s was an incomplete pass and nothing else.Originally Posted by LynchOwnsU

Sorry if I wasn't clear. It was the head of officiating that said there was no difference. Eisen was trying to point out the difference.

If it was any other team besides the Raiders it would have been a fumble.. Fuk the NFL Refs and TagisaFag..
Doesn't matter. Everyone at the NFL Network and in the NFL are out to get the Raiders. They are corrupt and have systematically discriminated against this great franchise. This is an unforgivable travesty of justice.Originally Posted by trojan56

To be perfectly clear, the tuck rule is where you screw the Raiders out of their Super Bowl bid and that fag Vinatieri kicks the winning field goal. I will never forget that kick nor the Immaculate reception. Those are two plays I will never get out of my head.
It was payback for Darryl Stingley and 1978
