If a player retires, and decided to come back and play 3 years later, would he have to wait an additional 5 years after he left the game the 2nd time, or would he still be eligible<SP in two?

obviously im not a HOF voter, but i believe he has to wait the 5 yrs after his second retirement. i assume this applies to Deon?

If he comes back prior to reaching eligibility/selection time, then he has to wait.

Examples
Retires 2000, HOF eligibility is 2005, comes back 2004, retires 2010, eligibility time 2015.

Retires 2000, HOF eligibility is 2005, NOT selected in HOF 2005, comes back 2006, no longer HOF eligible, retires 2010, eligibilty time is 2015.

Retires 2000, HOF eligibility is 2005, selected in HOF 2005, comes back 2006, still in HOF.

i never knew the specifics on that thanks Sith.....so that mean if someone retires and comes back in 6 years without going to the HOF they are no longer eligable....WOW

they are no longer eligible until they retire again then 5 years after that they are eligible again.
