safety or touchback?
yesterday the cardinals had an intense pass rush, and this certain play, we were backed up in our own end zone and a cardinals defense player knocked the ball out of kerry collins hands and the ball bounced out of bounds in the end zone, and they ruled it a safety..i thought if something like that happens it would be touchback cardinals ball at the 20 yard line...

But wait, I saw a play tonight in the Chefs/Seahawks game (yes sorry it's the only game shown locally!) where an offensive player had the ball, ran towards the endzone, had the ball knocked out of his hands (which I would assume they'd say it was a fumble), the ball went into the endzone and they ruled it a Seahawks touchback.
So I'm thinking you may be thinking that if the ball is fumbled by a QB or any other offensive player out of the opponents endzone, then it's considered a safety??? I could be TOTALLY wrong here.

thanks coop i just remembered now...if the ball goes out of bounds out of your own end zone its a safety but lets say seahawks have the ball and they're at the goal line, they give it to alexander, and alexander fumbles the ball it goes into the end zone then goes out of bounds from the end zone its a touchback...damn i cant believe i forgot that lol thanks coop

Only reason I could post in this thread was because of the play I saw on tv tonight. I'm glad I could help (if I'm right!).

Actually, after going back and reading my post, I have a question which could make a difference in what I posted.
Ok say you're at a game and the Raiders are working left to right. Is the endzone on the right their endzone or their opponents???

I beleive it is their opponents, they are defending their endzone is the easiest way to put it.
