I think his court date is coming up pretty soon. I believe I read somewhere that he asked to get it moved to after the season. But the judge rejected that. It will depend on the judge it will be similar to the Kobe deal where he is in court and then flying back. What will make this hard for him is the practice he will miss. Unlike basketball where it is pretty much freelance football is more coordinated and this will effect his play. I am sure Billick isn't too thrilled about this whole fiasco. As far as how it will turn out this will depend on what kind of representation he gets. I expect this to go into next year before he is anywhere near getting sentanced. If your playing in my league go ahead and give him a high ranking otherwize move him down lol

If you rank Jamal high and get him, just insure him with Musa Smith. Saw him play at Georgia a few times and he's a damn hoss.

Good pass catcher... Plus isn't that the knock on Musa? Stone hands?

Personally i'm staying clear of him...Too risky!
He is an elite fantasy RB, simply because he has all the skills you look for and a team which is based upon a 65%-35% run-to-pass ratio-meaning he will always get the ball! But imagine if you spend your first or second rounder on him and he either doesn't play at all, or can't play for a substancial amount of time-or is hampered by it in some way...This is all a little 'if' this and 'if' that, but it's a risk i'm not willing to take unless I get more assurance he can play, simply because there are many other great players in those rounds which could be taken in a flash! I do like the insurance policy of a Jamal Lewis backup.... The only problem is you could waste a pick and maybe chose the wrong one-like I did by selecting Onterrio Smith instead of Moe Williams to replace Bennett...He barely touched the ball and i was stuffed with two wasted picks! After a fantasy season where I based my main league team on Vick, Shockey, Porter, Dillon and Eric Moulds- i am a little more careful about who I draft this year!!!!!!

Second-year RB Musa Smith has answered a lot of questions during training camp about his ability to take over for Jamal Lewis should Lewis have to step away in order to deal with federal drug charges. Smith, 6 feet 1 and 232 pounds, played in 11 regular-season games last year after missing the first five games due to a knee injury suffered in training camp. Ravens coach Brian Billick had planned to use Smith in the second half of last season, but stayed with Lewis, who finished with 2,066 yards rushing. There were questions about Smith's speed and breakaway ability. But in training camp, Smith has surprised some people with his quickness and burst to get outside. He gives the Ravens confidence if Lewis can't play.

Latest is that Jamal's trial will commence mid-season (week 8)... This seriously hampers his fantasy value and Musa Smith looks like a good mid-late round sleeper all of a sudden!
