Al loves athletic freaks and this guy is a ****ing animal in the trenches. The video i have seen of him makes my jaw drop. He literally takes over games on every snap.

Size, speed, power, tenacity......this is what this dline is missing in the middle.

If you look at our roster we have the players to trade for value.

Okay, Gents (and Ladies)-

I've spent a good bit of time lately pondering the post-Al era (whenever it ends up happening in whatever way it ends up happening). The point here is not in wishing ill on Al in any way, but to get the sense you guys have for who the team will fall to and what might become of the franchise when the guard inevitably changes. From what little we know, does Marc Davis seem like the kind of guy who'd look around to the successful teams in the league and actually hire a GM and give control of the S&B over to a true organization? If control ends up in the hands of Mrs. Davis, how might things play out? I am very curious to hear what everyone thinks, as I have a hunch many of you have had this same thought...

My wife made a comment during the superbowl that got me thinking. She stated "too bad you guys dont have Peyton, how many guys would Al trade to get him".

Kind of a dumb question, and completely improbable, but it did make me think about it a little bit. If you were the GM, how much would you sacrifice to sign Peyton Manning next year? Do you sell the farm?

Me personally, a guy like that only comes along every 10 years or so, so i would be happy giving up 2 first round picks and a bunch of later rounds.

What would you give, and what do you think it would really take for Indy to consider it?

I have never met more delusional fans in my life. I engaged in a conversation with 2 charger fans who asked me what my favorite team was and I said The Raiders, naturally they start making fun of me and I was like what do you guys have to make fun of? everytime you go to the playoffs you choke and whens the last time you went to a superbowl? 94? You got killed too and yes so did we but last time we went to the playoffs we actually went somwhere.

Then i asked how long you been charger fans? they said about 4 years. Oh really? is that when they started becoming good? where were you guys when ryan leaf was there? Our excuse is we have an old senile owner who holds us back from getting the right people whats your excuse for not ever winning a superbowl? as soon as al leaves we're gonna go back to owning you guys just like we use to and when you actually win a superbowl you can talk crap about us,, until then we might suck buit our franchise is way better than yours.

in concluding it seems to me being a fan of the raiders is the best. we are the only team anyone else pays attenion too besides their own. Someone will always have something to say about the raiders and thats why I like them so much cuz their the team with the richest legacy besides the steelers in my view.

With the '09 season drawing to a close it's, once again that time of year to be wildly optimistic about every fans team and there chances for next season. So, rather than bash Al, poke fun at JMAC and his liking for hotdogs and question every tiny move Cable and his staff make I'm gonna pump up the positivity and give this forum a little feel good factor....

(by the way I already know I'll get shot down for this but really feel we're not a long way from being a wildcard team, if not a division contender and, hell, i'm sick of logging on to read how much we suck, we're Raider fans after all......)

1. Cable remaining a coach and the hiring of a new O co-ordinator.

Now I don't think Cables the new Madden, heck he's not even the new Gruden but the players try for him and he clearly has there support. The pick up of Jackson has really made me think our O will improve next year, at Balt & Cincy he had great success and if he only improves our QB performance by 10% it's gotta be a good thing. If he improves our backs to anything like that of Balti and with Cable maybe having more time to get the O-line sorted we could be on to a good thing.....

2. The likelihood of an uncapped year.

Without certain constraints Al might splash the cash (would'nt be the first time), might have the chance to cut ties with certain overpaid underperformers or at the very least it buys us more time to sort out our already maxed out credit of a salary cap.

3. Lots of Picks.

With so many picks and the options which are available to us, we could really give our team a boost of young talent which we could use as a base for our team (particularly on the O n D lines) for years to come. This leads me to 4....

4. So much young talent.

Schillens, Murphy, Miller, DHB, DMac, Bush, Huff, Myers, Grad, Shaughnessy, Mitchell, Branch and more. There IS talent in this team.

5. Free Agents and Draft Depth

For the first time in a while there seems to be a heap of players available in the posistions we most need, particularly DT in FA, with the likes of Jolley, Wilfork and Robbins. A lot of O-lineman who could bolster our line in the draft and the likes of Mawae and Barron as FA too.

6. AFC West getting weaker.

Chargers have peaked and could lose Merriman, McNeil and have already looked to have lost LT. Broncos still at flux on O, Kyle Orton?!! marshall always wants out and there overated D is getting old, Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins ect. Chiefs work in progress with new coaches and still not sold on there recent trades drafts ect (dorsey, cassell ect)

7. Looks like we're going to re-sign Seabass and Grad.

Seabass should have been a probowler, fact. Grad is a leader and wants to stay in oaktown, the rest of the players want him to stay too. If both these guys stay it's great news.

8. JMac and Grad hitting the gym.

Now I have my own opinions of mr.russell but if rumours are to be belived both our pencilled in QB's for next year are preparing to fight it out for the starters job last year. Again, competition can only be a good thing.

9. 2010 schedule.

Sure there's hard match ups on there but overall I like the schedule and I think a decent record is possible from it.

10. We got 6 months till we play again.

(this 1 really is for the pessimists!! lol!) whatever happens, no matter how we screw up drafting, free agency et al we can't lose for half a year in that in my book means that as of right now are in joint 1st place in the seedings and are only a coin toss away from homefield advantage in the playoffs......ahem, yeah ok but I think you get my drift.

Right there we go, positivity.................

What's up nation!? Hope everyone is doing as well as we all can be! I was just dropping in to let everyone know that as some people know I am from Toledo. Toledo is also where Grad played his college ball (which everyone knows) Well Bruce came to a local sports bar called Arnie's today and did a autograph signing with all the proceeds going to Haiti relief. I got an all white panel Raider football signed along with two photos. One of the photos I had him sign was a picture of him slapping hands with me in the tunnel in Pittsburgh. I asked him if he was excited about coming back to Oakland and he said absolutely! He also said he loved my gear I was wearing and that it is cool to see Raider fans in Toledo. I told him we are everywhere! I also asked him if he is excited to compete for the starting job again and he said "If they give me the chance, ill take it" in a kidding fashion, but he meant it! lol Well just letting everyone know that he is a awesome dude!
