BTW cable Barnes is no guard. Campbell can not be worse then Cooper. Sure he will make mistakes, but Cooper is going to make mistakes. Atleast Campbell can learn. Stick Valdeer at Rt and stop switiching him positions like Gallery. Look how that worked out. If Barnes faulters we would have Valdeer waiting in the wings to take over at some point. Henderson is a solid LT, and Samson starts by default :/

What wideouts are on the trading block around league?

So is this our opening day wideouts

Murphy
Heyward Bey

Higgins

Miller/Figures
Ford

So is this our opening day wideouts

Murphy
Heyward Bey

Higgins

Miller/Figures
Ford

Injuried: Schilens
Watkins just flat out sucks.

Alot of these guys are similar players in
Higgins/Yamon/Miller/Ford small fast guys that are better returners then wideouts. If the Ravens can get a former first round pick in Josh Wilson for a 5th round pick, then I sure if we dangle a 3/4/5 we could bring someone in.
<a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/48.html"target=_blank>Chaz Schilens is starting to look like the odd man out. He has be expected to be the man just to let us down time and time again. If we are lucky we can draft another playmaker next year in the big 4( Floyd, Pitt Guy, Green, Jones) but until then I just think our wideout postion is scary.

Who around the league is on the trade block?
Vincent Jackson- Sd would never do it
Golden Tate- with the emergence of Mike Williams and TJ
Jerome Simpson- Former 2nd round pick by Bengals who may be lost in the mix
Antwan Byrant- Free Agent
Anthony Gonzalez- lost in the mix after the youngs guy stepping up
Roy Williams- Dal Seems to be the odd man out
Ramses Barden- wanted to draft him out of POLY- lost in the shuffle in New York after other young guys break out years Smith, Mario, Nicks , and drafted a new wide out

Murphy and Bey will have solid seasons, but we need one more guy to really scare teams. Remember the Randy Moss effect? When defenses would scheme around the guy because of how great he was

I fully expect Colt to be released within the next 48 hours. And I know there's a "Colt" thread, but it has gone beyond a substantive discussion on the pros and cons of Colt. That thread includes posts about the Cardinals and USC.

To this point, it's my observation that Colt has been a victim of poor timing and bad luck. Had Colt declared after his Junior year, he was projected to be one of the top-3 QBs taken in that draft (the one with JR) - a late 1st-rounder to early 2nd-round.

What round you're drafted does make a difference in your opportunity. The higher you're drafted, the more financial commitment a team has to make to you, hence, the more the team will give you EVERY OPPORTUNITY to make the team.

Not only did his decision to return to school cost him a few million dollars, it's also cost him a real opportunity to make a team in my humble opinion.

Colt graduated from Hawaii having set or tied 30+ NCAA D1A FBS career records, to include a career QB efficiency rating of a whopping and unheard of 167!

A 167 rating is hard to do against the stadium parking lot attendants. That QB efficiency rating cannot be ignored.

Some would rebutt that Colt played in the WAC. There's no apoligizing for playing in the WAC. The WAC is an FBS conference. The WAC has lots of players that are in the NFL, that are All-Pros, that are HOF'ers. Colt has faced during his career at Hawaii the likes of Georgia, Purdue, Washington, Alabama, Oregon St., USC, Arizona St., Michigan St. amongst others, to include good Boise St. and Fresno St. teams every year.

But that's college, and "what you do in college doesn't mean sh't in the pros" - that's my mantra.

So what has Colt done in the NFL? He's only had one preseason to show anything at all. His very first game as an NFL'er he's 9 out of 10 for 2 TDs, finishing with a 157 QB rating. He followed that the next game going 4 out of 5 including the game winning TD.

Colt finished his rookie preseason as the highest rated rookie QB, and near the top of all QBs that played that preseason to include Pro-Bowl veterans - over a 100 guys.

The case that is Colt is puzzling indeed, perplexing also. I posted several seasons ago that Colt most reminded me of Gannon if I had to pick one. Of the QBs on our current roster, Colt most reminds me of Gradkowski - they both played in a similar spread/run-n-shoot offense.

Colt could end up packing groceries somewhere like Kurt Warner. Maybe he'll end up in the CFL like Warren Moon and Joe Theisman. His body of work up to this point is all we have to go on - and it indicates to this ol' Raider Dawg that Colt at the very least is an NFL caliber QB. But for many on this board, the case for Brennan needs to be revisted.

GOOD LUCK, COLT BRENNAN! ... where ever that may be.

Hi All,

I'm coming back for the Rams game and want to pick up an authentic jersey (ideally a throwback).

My experience of the merchandise stands inside the stadium has been mixed, and unless I was unlucky not much choice in jersey's. This time I want to try and save time by heading straight to the best one.

What's the most likely one to stock authentic's?

Here is the list of locations from Raiders.com

Champion Store - section 129.
Starter Store - section 105.
Gate C stand - section 109.
Gate D stand - section 124.
DD stand - 200 Level concourse by section 225.
CC stand - 200 Level concourse by section 209.
C store - at entrance gate by section 109.
D store - at entrance gate by section 124.
Left Field stand - section 134.
Right Field stand - section 150.
Outside Oakland Coliseum - near gate D entrance.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Vic Carucci
Jason Campbell dramatically improves an offense that was desperate for competence under center. The draft makes the defense instantly better.
Prediction: 10-6, second in AFC West

Pat Kirwan
A better QB situation than they've had in years and Richard Seymour and Jon Henderson strengthen defense. Al Davis appears to be letting Tom Cable coach.
Prediction: 8-8, second in AFC West

Jason La Canfora
Major upgrades at QB and to the coaching staff. One of the biggest DLs in the NFL and quality individual talent. They finally start to jell.
Prediction: 9-7, second in AFC West

Michael Lombardi
The Raiders are improved but concerns about their depth and offensive line keep them from a playoff team.
Prediction: 7-9, third in AFC West
Jason Campbell might not post great numbers but steady is all they need. Michael Bush is due for a nice season. <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/2008/05/19/silver-spotlight-nnamdi-asomugha/"target=_blank>Nnamdi Asomugha will earn his $15 million.
This guy leads all Cowboys WR in preseason (a team-high 11 catches for 132 yards) and might be available for a relatively cheap price. He's behind Austin, Williams, Dez Bryant and Crayton on depth chart.

We should jump all over this.

More than two-thirds of the Raiders roster is set as they enter tonight's exhibition finale against the Seattle Seahawks. It's the slightly less than one-third that isn't set that's making things tough for coach Tom Cable.

Cable has said several times that cutting the final 22 players will be harder than it has been since he joined the Raiders in 2007 as an offensive line coach. How well many of the players perform against the Seahawks will be the difference between their making the final 53-man roster and unemployment Saturday afternoon.

Free safety Michael Huff has been a part of four final roster cutdowns during his five-year NFL career and said the team's depth is as strong as he's seen it.
"Oh, there's definitely going to be some eye-openers," Huff said, "but that's what goes with being a good organization, being a team that has quality depth and great players. There's always going to be competition, and there's going to be players that could start for other teams, but because we have so much depth here, they won't be able to play here.”

Here's a look at how the Raiders roster shapes up entering tonight's game:

Locks: Quarterbacks Jason Campbell, Bruce Gradkowski and Kyle Boller. Running backs Darren McFadden, Michael Bush and Rock Cartwright. Fullback Marcel Reece. Tight ends Zach Miller and Brandon Myers. Wide receivers Darrius Heyward-Bey, Louis Murphy, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/48.html"target=_blank>Chaz Schilens, Jacoby Ford and Yamon Figurs.

Offensive linemen: Mario Henderson, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/91.html"target=_blank>Robert Gallery, Samson Satele, Cooper Carlisle, Langston Walker, Jared Veldheer and Bruce Campbell. Defensive linemen Matt Shaughnessy, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/108.html"target=_blank>Tommy Kelly, Richard Seymour, Lamarr Houston and Desmond Bryant.

Linebackers: Kamerion Wimbley, Rolando McClain and Trevor Scott.

Cornerbacks: <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/2008/05/19/silver-spotlight-nnamdi-asomugha/"target=_blank>Nnamdi Asomugha, Chris Johnson and Stanford Routt.

Safeties: Huff, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/52.html"target=_blank>Tyvon Branch and Mike Mitchell.

Kicker Sebastian Janikowski, punter <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/114.html"target=_blank>Shane Lechler and long-snapper Jon Condo.

On the bubble:

Running back Michael Bennett. Fullback Luke Lawton. Tight end John Owens. Receivers <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/125.html"target=_blank>Todd Watkins, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/124.html"target=_blank>Johnnie Lee Higgins and Nick Miller. Offensive linemen Khalif Barnes, Chris Morris and Erik Pears.

Defensive linemen John Henderson, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/2008/05/23/silver-spotlight-jay-richardson/"target=_blank>Jay Richardson and Chris Cooper. Linebackers Sam Williams, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/105.html"target=_blank>Thomas Howard, Quentin Groves, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/96.html"target=_blank>Ricky Brown, Slade Norris and Travis Goethel.

Cornerbacks Walter McFadden and Jeremy Ware. Safeties Stevie Brown, <a href="http://www.sbreport.net/raider_news/008/94.html"target=_blank>Hiram Eugene and Jerome Boyd.

"You have to show up," Cable said of players in this category. "They're on the bubble for a reason, because they have shown up to this point. You have to make an exclamation point (tonight).”

Long shots: Quarterback Colt Brennan. Fullback Manase Tonga. Punter/kicker Swayze Waters. Receiver Shaun Bodiford. Offensive linemen Daniel Loper, Brandon Rodd and Alex Parsons. Defensive linemen William Joseph, Greyson Gunheim, Alex Daniels and Kellen Heard. Linebacker David Nixon. Cornerbacks Joe Porter and Joey Thomas.

Note: The Raiders denied an ESPN report that said they are one of three teams that have discussed trading for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart. A statement on the Raiders website said: "The Raiders have never discussed trading for Leinart. The Raiders are very happy about their quarterback situation.”
