BJ Penn takes out Stevenson

...to become only the second UFC fighter to hold a title in 2 different weight classes (the other being Randy Couture).

Our local news had some still shots, and a local message boards had some play by play description. I don't "buy" fights, because you never know if it's going to last or not (you know, often times it's not worth it). According to one poster, BJ opened up a cut on Stevenson's head. He said you could see the blood gushing out. http://msn.foxsports.com/boxing/story/7697152?MSNHPHMA

I"m a big BJ Penn fan. Didn't get to see the fight, but I'm glad he won. I was hoping he'd move up a weight class. After GSP takes out Serra I'd like to see a GSP/Penn fight. But I like the lightweight division as well. Even though he's not the most skilled fighter, I love to watch Clay Guida fight. That guy has some energy!

I watched the fight(12noon) and PENN just utterly demolsihed Stevenson....buckled Stevenson and nearly KO'd him in the first 5 seconds of the fight... Opened up a HUGE cut from an elbow.....took his back and CHOKED him OUT!!!!!!!

MAUI's Kendall Grove got KTFOut by Jorge Rivera in the first round

Great day of fights, BJ Penn dominated Stevenson, the waterfall of blood going down Stevenson face didn't help his cause. Kendall Grove got a 100% a$$ kicking in one minute of the first round. Lambert got KTFO in a comeback by Wilson Gouvia. Werdom exposed Gonzaga in the third round to get his first UFC wins!

These were some pretty good fights if you like knockouts. I enjoyed them all. The gash that BJ Penn caused on Stevenson pretty much began and ended the fight. They cleaned it up after the first round but it really didn't help. The blood running into his eyes limited Stevenson the rest of the fight and helped lead to the submission by Penn.

Personally I think Shaun Sherk is going to destroy BJ Penn. With all due respect to Stevenson he is not exactly what you would consider an elite fighter. I laughed my a$$ off when BJ said, "you're dead" and Sherk confronted him. All of a sudden Penn turns into a pu$$y extending his hands out wishing thim the best of luck.CLASSIC! This all could just be a little suspense Dana White wants to throw at the public. Oh and does anyone else here think that BJ Penn's enterance song suck?
