Question for the Raider Nation...

Why are all the media, Kiper and all the so-called experts so confident that you guys are looking nowhere with your first pick outside of a QB. it seems all the talk surrounding your Raiders has you a lock to pick either JR or BQ.

I am biased and I will admit that I would like to see AD go #1 overall and to the Raiders, but it really seems to make sense that you would draft a gamebreaking RB, especially since you were 32 of 32 in rushing offense last year. FOOTBALL 101 YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO RUN THE FOOTBALL. now i dont want to see AD get killed and I understand the injury history, but if he is good enough despite the injuries to go #3 then whats different with the #1 pick.

Also I can see AD being the type of guy that could change the attitude of the team and for you in Oakland to help get a lttle bit of history back with a bigtime RB, shades of Bo & Marcus.

Football 101 ?......... How about when you cannot trow the ball so they stack the box and snuff the run I dont care what kind of back you got if your o-line is suffering and your QB is struggling there going to stop the run.

one on one ( what) try 101, and i'm just trying to understand the thinking going into the pick to take a QB, those are good points, now let me ask you this, whats the chance of the opposing 16 teams you play this year teeing off on your new rookie QB, outlook not good, I can argue your point and you can definately argue mine, I'm just looking for opinions.

Good point Gladiator. A team has to show it is able to move the ball by either means (running or passing) or defenses will just focus on shutting down one area.

Your bias is showing, with a lot of folks who may any argument either way...
Yes, you have to be able to run the ball to win. Just liek you have to block with consistency. So, may, just maybe -- the issues isnt at RB, but at OL.

I know Peterson is a stud, and will be one, and people want him, but lets not churn out scenarios for us winning that only involve the RB -- because thats not thee only solution to win.

lamont Jordan was hurt last year and are line was a joke also Jordan is the 4th highest paid back in the league drafting another rb that high and paying them both is tieing up to much money on one position. Teams that have a two headed rb has a star and a back they picked up in later rounds that is know coming around Like addai and rhodes LT and Turner in SD to much money on one position when we have other holes to fill

I do not claim to know all your teams needs, and I really do apologise for my bias to AD, but my question really is that why all the QB talk, if you cannot block for LJ and whoever takes the snaps this year for you guys then why are we not talking about Joe Thomas. I see almost all threads started here are to take the attractive pick at a skill player, i am simply stating the case for the RB.

Inless your a raider fan and follow the team it had more to do with the coaching last year we ran a outdated offense with a 5 to 7 drop step you can not run this style offense this day and age so the line suffered and the QB so a lot of the promblems where on the scheme. Thats why the whole offense of coaching personal is gone. I just cannot see paying two RB first round money and capping us out when we have more holes to fill like i said before. Lets get the QB of the future and give Jordan another year sinse we are paying him top dollar and see next year

First of all Kiper and the so called experts have no idea what Al will do with the #1 pick. All the the Saturday evening QB can speculate but Al will pick the player he thinks will be the best for the Raiders. All this other stuff about FOOTBALL 101 means nothing. One player can not change the attitude of a team. Winning will do wonders though.
