Biggest Potential Bust?

the NFL Draft always has a few players that don't pan out after all the hype they had coming out of college.

outside of the top five prospects (Russell, Quinn, Thomas, Johnson, and Peterson) any early candidates who'll be a bust in a few years?

i'll throw one out:
Ted Ginn Jr. - despite being a threat to take it to the house at any given moment, he's very inconsistent as a wide receiver. he's a bad route runner and his hands are average at best. he's not strong enough to consistently come off the line of scrimmage without being jammed and his thin build won't allow him to get a whole lot bigger at the next level. even though he might be great on special teams, he probably won't be a go-to receiver in the NFL. he's a lot like Chris Gamble and might have a better pro career if he played on the other side of the ball as a corner. he'll be ok if he gets drafted by an indoor team like St. Louis or Indianapolis who throws the ball alot.

Ginn is a big question...but I will go with Smith. The Heismann winner will not translate well to the NFL

A failed quarterback is always the biggest bust because there's nothing else he can do for you. A few, like Rick Mirer, can hang around the league for a while as a backup. But most busts are usually out of the league in short order, i.e. Akili Smith, Drunkenmiller, Shuler, etc. With quarterbacks it seems that, more than any other position, they either get it or they don't.

Anyhow, of guys expected to go high who scare me a bit are Peterson, for durability issues (another Biakabutuka?) and Quentin Moses.

Yeah, those injury issues concern me too. If it wasnt for those, I'd definately want Oakland to seriously consider the guy. He's second on my list, but it's because of those injuries.

Definetly Russell, he has the most upside, and the highest possible chance of busting. He wasn't even on the radar until the sugar bowl.

Other than that I'd probably Thomas, because he reminds me of Gallery.

Peterson he broke his collarbone diving into the endzone, that is a bad luck scenario.....serious injuries are hard to overcome at the RB position.

I agree with Russell having the most upside but also the biggest potential bust. I also think the CB from Michigan is going to be a bust along with Thomas because I'm not a big fan of lineman drafted early who can't defend speed rushes
