really drafting a qb???

i've heard a lot of talk bout raiders either draftin brady quinn (yea) or JaMarcus Russell (hell no) but do u really think the raiders r gonna take a qb???? i think they shuld but i highly doubt it...i mean they have a lot of confidence in andrew walter (haha) and they just picked up aaron brooks this yr. also been alot of talk bout porter and moss leavin so i think they'll try 4 a wr.......i really wantem 2 draft quinn, but idk if he'd put up respectable numbers w/ no 1 to throw 2.....but idk......raiders management can b super unpredictable

depends on the new head coach
we are making speculations about who we are drafting when we don't even know who our new head coach is and what kind of offensive scheme we will run.

I just started a thread about building around AW, drafting everything but a QB on the generic forum page.

The kid sucked for the 2006 scheme/team. He'll be fine in a team that can run/pass block and get receivers open.

Tui will be leaving via Free Agency. Brooks only has an option for a second year if Al picks it up(for~$6mil) and Im not sure he's worth it. His career has gone downhill since he came into the league. So that leaves our '07 roster with 1 QB, Walter, who will be in his 3rd year in the league but with little playing time (~9 games). What do you recommend we do?

We obviously need a vet to come in to help AW and we can't got he entire '07 season with just 2 QBs on the roster. Should we take another 6th rounder as a 2nd development project after Walter, or should we take a higher round QB (1st or 2nd) that is more polished and closer to where Walter is that can compete with Walter for the starting spot so that they can both develope?

The best thing for us would be a QB controversy because they will push each to be better. We haven't had a decent QB since Gannon's unfortunate injury. I say, draft Quinn, bring in an old timer like Brad Johnson to tutor, and hire Gannon as a QBs Coach/or OC.

It doesnt' depend on the new head coach. It depends upon who Al Davis wants. Anyone that thinks the coach has big pull in the draft hasn't been a RAider fan for long.

Tui is gone I think; Walter we'll be a back up. Maybe the RAiders can unload Brooks.

I wouldn't pick this crop of QB's with the first pick. I'd trade down or draft Peterson and then get a QB. Brohm first off, and then maybe Troy Smith. Hopefully they can trade for one though.

Hopefully we get a new coach from outside the organization, because it seems every organization but the Raiders believes that QB's are important.
