My Raiders Mock Draft
I've used a number of sources for this (no inside sources) and have taken it to account who I think the Raiders will take, more than who I would take.
1.(7) CB/S Michael Huff Texas- He can run which is a Raider priority, but he's also able to play multiple positions which is valued in coach Ryan's defense. 2.(38) OLB Roger "Rocky" McIntosh Miami (Fla)- Good speed, great production and played both inside and outside at Miami which fits Ryan's scheme perfectly. Jon Alston and Thomas Howard are two other OLB's who could be the pick here. 3.(69) DT Claude Wroten LSU- He's falling due to his positive test for Marijuana and his arrest for attempting to distribute it. He's said to be a good kid outside of these issues. He's very disruptive inside and is an 3 technique similar to Sapp, he's most often compared with Tommie Harris who was a Bears 1st rounder. I think the Raiders take Gabe Watson over Wroten if he's available, but I don't think he will be. 4.(101) RB Andre Hall South Florida- There will be a RB available to the Raiders early in the 4th who will be too talented to pass up. Hall has speed, can return the ball and also caught 26 balls as a senior. If Maurice Drew is the back who falls, I think the Raiders take him over Hall. 6. (176) C/G Jason Spitz Louisville- My thinking here is that the Raiders have good contacts at Louisville with one of their new offensive assistants having coached there, and more importantly, there invterviews with Petrino. The Raiders will know if Spitz can (or can't) play. Played guard last year, but some think he's better as a C. Strongest player on his team. Why wait this long for an OL? My guess is the Raiders signed the two guards this past week with the idea that one would push for a starting spot this year. 7. (214) CB Jarrett Bush Utah State- Purely a size/speed projection here. He's 6'0 and runs a 4.46. 7. (255) QB Marcus Vick Virginia Tech- Raiders have "Mr. Irrelevant" and what better way to spend it than on a guy who would garner this much publicity? I just see this as a pure Raider type pick, and not really a gamble this late. |

I'd love that draft although i feel it's a little optimistic!
1. Huff - Great pick. 2. McIntosh... He's a good LB and iot certainly fills a big NEED position, however, i feel that the likes of DeMeco Ryans, Thomas Howard etc. are better prospects and could be available here if we designate this pick for filling our OLB gap. I think we'd be able to grab Gabe Watson here and get Rocky in the 3rd! 3. Wroten won't fall this far. Neither will Watson. 4. Nice pick. 6. If Spitz lasts this long it will be a gift, he's an underrated player. 7. Why not! 7. Worth the gamble but i think he'll be too much for some teams to pass up on late first day (a la Clarett last season).
