ESPN's live Mock DRAFT....WITH THE 7th PICK....the Oakland Raiders Select.........

Moderator: We're going to take a Raiders question before we get to their pick. Ryan asks .. Are the raiders seriously considering Vince Young even though Andrew Walter has gotten good reviews within the organization?

Len Pasquarelli, ESPN.com senior NFL writer: It seems they are, although it could be just smoke. And, let's face it, who blows smoke any better than the Raiders do? Still, if Young fell to them, the Raiders would have to strongly consider it, given his rare abilities. Good call on Walter, Ryan, because the reports on him this offseason have been favorable. He's a big guy, good pocket presence, with a big arm.

And with the 7th overall pick the Oakland Raiders select .......Matt Leinart QB USC......

Cool Pretty damn good Mock for the first 7 picks...

espn.com's latest mock wasn't too bad, one of the only mocks that i really do like.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft0...ory?id=2423861

and hey, if Leinart does infact fall to us at #7, i don't really think we should pass him up. not having to move up would just be a little too damn good ta get him.

and if we end up making a draft day trade involving Porter or whoever else, just imagine how many nice picks would should have left if we in fact don't have to move up for Leinart. i'd be jack'd if it went down like this.

yup, i posted this in the draft forum.

if Leinart really did fall to us we better swoop him with a quickness. this move would complicate our QB scenario a little though, as Tui may be shoved out, and he deserves better then that. maybe we'll keep him around as more of a coach/player, as that is mostly wut he's been since we got him.

i like it though, Leinart in the Silver & Black has me feel'n good. but then again, so does Hawk, Davis, Huff, Young, Bush, Mario and the list goes on. damn this draft is bomb.

Having two QBs with potential is probably the best scenario that could happen.

Yes, yes, yes.
If the Radiers were to draft a QB and then Walter looks great in the pre-season or gets to start and plays well, that leaves the Raiders in a very good position to trade him or the drafted guy for a big return.

Bottom line: If Leinart is there, the Raiders have to take him ahead of Huff. You never pass on a potential franchise quarterback for a safety.

Exactly?

Huff had 7 INTs, so he touched the ball 7 times in college... a QB touches the ball every snap.
