Adding weight thats something he wont have to do. Just needs to continue to grow into himself and continue to learn the game.

No one person is going to be "the answer," unfortunately. That is why we NEED to trade back. For the most part, teams use the 1st and 2nd rounds of the draft to find immediate starters, and use the 3rd/4th round to find potential starters or "project players." The rest are just used to find good depth at thin positions.
this is why we MUST trade down and get a second, and perhaps trade down that second pick to get another 3rd/4th.
As far as Ansah goes, we cannot pick him at 3, nor can we pick anyone at 3... we need to find a way to get a 2nd round pick. I would love to take Ansah at 8,9,10,etc. Because truthfully (and don't tell any other teams) Ansah is the best DE coming out of this draft. Werner and Moore are more proven, but that doesn't make them better, it just makes them a safer pick.
It seems I have rambled on a bit.
    OTF and Hownd like this.

My guy @ #3 is Ansuh. He's moving up draft board QUICK(top 10 lock imo), I hope we choose him for the following reasons:

    Elite athletic ability and measurables

Dominated the best players in the country in the Senior bowl. Was straight up ridiculous in this game!

Reportedly good work ethic(important to new RM regime)

Has only played football for 2 years, his ceiling is extremely high.

and well.... just watch his damn highlight tape

said it months ago, this guy could end up being the best player chosen in this draft. Sure hope we can move down a few picks then take him

I don't have an opinion on Ansah. I haven't seen him play enough. But I love the thought of trading down and picking up a 2nd. However, i will go you one better. How about trading down and picking another 1st and and a 2nd or 3rd. St Louis has picks 16 and 22 as well as 16 in the 2nd round. According to the draft value chart( I know kinda out of date), Pick 3 is worth 2200 points. Pick 16 is worth 1000. Pick 22 is worth 780. Pick 46 is worth 440. Giving up 2200 and getting back 2220. Maybe the Raiders would have to settle for a 3rd instead of a 2nd to convince the Rams to jump, but I could also live with that. The Rams jump up and get the best OL available in Joekel( I don't see him going top 2). Raiders get a choice of OL(Warmack) 3-4OLB pass rusher(Ansah, Jordan, Mingo, Jones), NT(everyone but Star) (if they move to 3-4) I think Bryant(resign), Houston and Shaughnessy(resign) woudl be a great 3-4 DE rotation if they had a NT. With the 2nd/3rd rounder pick up what you didn't get in the 1st. I would love to see Warmack added to OL and a DL of Bryant-Jessie Williams(2nd round)or Jenkins( pick 22)-Houston. with Shaughnessy subbing in. Have Wheeler and draft the best OLB pass rusher with pick 22 or 2nd rounder and I'm starting to be happy with the front 7. I never thought I would say that.

    Thoughts?

The Rams would have to be head over heels in love with someone to give up those 3 picks for #3, IMO.

I thought of that first, lol. In seriousness, that would only work if the Rams were one of those teams that was one player away from being a contender. Unfortunately, they are not, they do not have as many holes as we do, but they do have holes that must be fixed with those picks.
Our best bet is trading down to ARZ or Buf. if Geno is available, and then trading down to the Rams for a 1st and 3rd, MAYBE aanother 2nd if there is someone they really want. this would give us a mid-1st, mid/high-second, and mid 3rd/4th.
Best (realistic) situation I could think of.

There isn't anyone in this draft that screams top 10. I would take Ansah anywhere in the top 10, but not within top 5. Werner is probably my favorite at #3, but even then it seems like it's a reach. Class is deep in defensive players, but not very deep in elite talent.

I'm not sure about sticking a number on him so soon. There will be a 20 something pick that will play better then 95% of those drafted in front of him. Obviously then he should have been a top 5. So if he's all that, whatever fake number we put on these players is more a mind trick. I do like these highlights.

i would not be at all disappointed in this pick. Ansah has the agility of a RB and the burst to boot. He would really wreak some havoc. Star or Ansah sound good to me. He can play both defensive fronts, change of direction is incredible. You don't see many guys that can do that with his size. He could be one of the elite NFL pash rushers he covers so much ground. Qb's are going to be shaking if he's on our D.

This may be a shocker to everyone here but I want a big DT with our first pick. Yup for the 6th draft in a row, I want a big DT.

I totally agree. I'd prefer to see all defensive snaps of an entire game against a quality opponent than a highlight video.

But that said, Ansuh looks better in the video SD21 posted than Gholston looks in this one.
