It is never to early for a 2013 mock .

The scouting department should be doing this yesterday after the draft was over with .

It's also stacked at NT and CB.

Maybe Al saw this coming and was all, "Eh, the 2012 Draft is deep but not overly talented...let's give it a shot with the talent we like in the 2011 Draft...and then leave it loaded for 2013..." Or maybe it was something else.

It seems like we definitely won't be doing any serious 3-4 this year, so I guess a NT is a obvious early guess. It'll be interesting if Seymour and Kelly are still on the team after the season. I kinda hope they aren't, definitely not at the salaries we're paying them.

Houston and bryant would be nice ends in a 3-4, I'd still like to see Shaughnessy as a OLB in a 3-4 kinda like with Hali in KC. Jarvis Jones could be hard to pass up to pair with Shaughnessy.

It seems like we'll be in a bind(without our 2nd round pick) with having to select one of the 3 NTs in the first(and missing out on the stud olbs) or taking a stud 3-4 olb and missing out on the top NTs. We could trade up with the 3rd round pick but that doesn't seem to be reggie's style. I think i'd take the 3-4 olb and pray a decent NT is available in the 3rd.

What picks do we have in next years draft?

Are we only missing our 2nd next year?

1 mock that I saw had Oakland taking the QB from Tennessee. So far, just a 2nd rd pick is missing

We are down a 1/2 for Palmer and a 4/5 for Curry.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of corners who are under 5'10". I think a couple of more years at LSU would help him physically. But that's just me.

Kiper's 2013 draft top 5: 1) Matt Barkley 2) Logan Thomas 3) LSU DE Barkevious Mingo 4) Georgia OLB Jarvis Jones 5) NC St CB David Amerson.

Amerson is interesting case. Ton of picks last season, listed at 6'3/194. But Amerson can't run a lick. Legit slow. Expect lots of debate.

None of the qb's listed seem great to me. And I am a VT fan. Also something about a db with the name Ray Ray troubles me. Blast from the past I guess. I would surely go ol or def

at this juncture, i have no idea what areas will need to be addressed come April of next year, let alone where we'll be picking.

but if i had to choose, my top choice is DT Star Lotuleilei from Utah.

IMO he would have been a 1st round pick this year had he declared. he surprised a lot of people by electing to go back to school. he has prototypical size, but as strong as he is, he's surprisingly quick and agile. he's got good snap anticipation, utilizes his hands very well, is impossible to block one on one and has a good motor for a man his size. he'd be a perfect fit for a hybrid defense, whether it be a NT or a 4-3 nose.

this is just one game, but you can get a sense of what he brings to the table.

    Napo and DustInTheWind like this.

Not really surprised he stayed and he is a Reggie type guy .
High Character , married 2 kids and stayed to get his degree .

I can totally see us grabbing him if we get a chance to that is .
