we shoulda kept sims around for trade bait, gave the rams sims and washington or stu to trade up and swap picks with the rams for long... i am biased, because hes a legacy.. but the mere fact the way the guys goes full bore every play, i just dont see that from gholston. long reminds me of a stronger more refined freeney, who i got to watch play at Syracuse, quick hands, good reads and great angles, solid.
with bush being able to show this year and fargas signed to a new contract, we also had jordan to dangle as a carrot as well, along with freeing up some cap room for us and merely jumping up 2 slots... i fear we will regret not pushing for long in the end (i hope im wrong) but i just dont see mcfadden being a savior at rb.
off the field issues just get amplified when you hand over someone 30 mil guaranteed, long was a leader at virginia, a guy who improved the other people around him, just by setting the example, i can only hope that the guy we wind up with can grow enough to do the same.
