(dup from Premium thread)

I have. Of the players I've wanted at #4 I've got it down to:

#1 Chris Long, DE Virginia

The more I read, the more I watch and the more I think about him the more I like him. He'd my #1 player on the board, including Jake Long.

#2 Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas

A bit of a risk, but there is no doubting his ability to make plays and we need a playmaker on offense. It's worth the risk.

#3 Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU

Still could be the best player on the board. I really feel that from a big name, big salary standpoint, we will not be making any moves at DT unless it includes trading away a player - or moving Tommy Kelly back to DE fulltime, which I have not heard one word about.

Out of my Consideration:

Vernon Gholston, DE Ohio State

Not a fan. The opposite of Long, the more I read, the more I watch the less I like. I really believe he needs to find a 3-4 team to play OLB. The biggest think I disliked was how blockable he looked in so many games.

Ryan Clady, OT Boise State

Nothing wrong with Clady except that the Raiders draft at #4 and he doesn't make the cut. Someone will get a helluva OL with this guy.

So, I that's my depth chart and today is the draft. We'll see how happy I am, but any of the top 3 guys will seriously make my day. Good luck, be safe and party on Nation!

In my dream world the Raiders land Dorsey, but I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that it's going to be Darren McFadden.

I don't think that's a terrible pick by any stretch. While he's not the surefire lock some here want to claim/believe, he has the potential to be a very good player, especially if he can keep some of his family members a long ways away from him.
But he doesn't address what ails the Raiders, which is mediocre - or worse - play from the offensive and defensive lines.

I see it:

1. Phins - Jake Long (duh)
2. Rams - Chris Long
3. Falcons - Glenn Dorsey
4. Raiders - Darren McFadden

Yeah, that's pretty much how it's looking right now, unless the Rams choose Dorsey and change the WHOLE landscape of this baby.

I agree that I would love to see Glenn Dorsey in a Raider uniform...McFadden is not a bad fall back. Great running backs will make the offensive line substandard play look better then it is. This Raider team needs playmakers on offense and there is no doubt McFadden is a playmaker. Dorsey or McFadden will greatly improve this team.

After fliping back and forth for months I am settled on McFadden...we need a gamebreaker. McFadden is the pick!
