Schefter has Dorsey falling to the Raiders

Watching NFL net this morning and Adam Schefter has the Lambs taking Long, Ryan to the Falcons and the Raiders having a choice between Dorsey, McFadden and Gholston.

The Saints would be interested in moving up to take the big lineman. But the Raiders could just take him themselves. They're having to adjust to the possibility the best player in the draft could actually fall to them after all.

Man would that be great.

welll ...... if what Kiffin says holds true and they truly will pick the BPA... the pick would be McFadden.... according to most McFadden is the best player and biggest impact athlete in this draft.!

It all depends on who you ask.

Dorsey is one hell of an interior lineman and I don't think anybody in their right mind thought he would drop to 4. Being in the AFC West with all these potent run games, a dominant run stopper up the middle could prove to be a great addition to Oakland's D.

I'm pretty much dead even on who I'd like between Long, Dorsey and McFadden.

Same here.. Any one of those three and I'd be a happy camper, although it's doubtful Long will still be around..

Has a great work ethic and takes well to hard coaching … Good team leader who works hard in the training room … Has the change of direction agility to make plays moving down the line … His acceleration is evident with his short burst and he displays very good stamina (rare to see him run out of gas) … Has a good concept for taking pursuit angles, showing quickness and explosiveness off the snap … Has the ability to create a new line of scrimmage with his initial step and is quick to gain advantage and shoot the gaps … Displays very quick hands and feet coming out of his stance, plus the body control to recover when he out-runs the play … Has become a physically dominant player who demands double-teams, as he does a good job in using his strength and explosiveness to close gaps and play with good leverage …

Negatives:

While he explodes off the snap, he has just marginal speed to make plays in long pursuit (best when shooting the inside gaps rather than try to make plays on the outside) … Has a strong lower body, but he needs to improve his base (gets narrow in his stance), as blockers have had success getting underneath his pads to lock on and wash him out of the play (see 2007 Tulane, Kentucky and Tennessee, and 2006 Tulane and Mississippi State games) … Must do a better job of planting his foot and anchoring vs. double teams (has good hand placement, but needs to counter better at times) … Best when taking angles or shooting gaps (gets too caught up in the battle when taking on isolated blockers at the point of attack) … Lack of ideal size might limit him to one-gap schemes … Generates good penetration, but for some reason, he fails to seal the deal on the quarterback (has only seven pressures in 51 games) … Does not display an array of pass rush moves, but shows good burst on the bull rush … Good complimentary type, but by declining postseason all-star invites it leaves one to wonder if he can dominate at the next level or is a player who was covered up by the LSU gang-tackling scheme (Tiger defensive linemen in the past have not lived up to their college billing in the NFL).

Man o man, if Doesey fell to the Raiders. Whew. He and McFadden are true #1's, so it be would be interesting. But i just don't see Mr.Davis passing on McFadden. But if he does, there's only two guys in this entire draft he would do it for:

-Long
-Dorsey

and even with Long he'd take it up to 9:59 . Should be interesting...

Bottomline: I just don't see ATL passing on Dorsey. He's the guy they've targeted and similar to the Kiffin-press-conference smoke screen this too, by ATL is a smoke-screen.

As much as I want Chris Long to become a Raider we cannot , no way no how no phucking way , pass up Glen Dorsey if he happens to fall to us at 4!!!!!!

He's the best player in the draft and plays one of the most important positions in football.....

A position that happens to be a major need of ours......

Let's not forget about Cedrick Ellis from USC. He's a "beast" as well. I think too many people get caught up in the hype of a sexy pick, especially with McFadden. Sure he's a playmaker, but he runs too damn high. If I were to et a top tier running back, I'd also look at getting McFadden's backup RB Felix Jones (if we traded down and still wanted an RB). Also, don't forget the RB out of Central Florida Kevin Smith,

Dorsey has to be the pick unless NO blows us away with a trade proposal. The were shopping Jamaal Brown, a pro-bowl LT to move up. If we get Brown, there 2nd, and a high pick next year...it will be tough not to make the trade.
