Arrow ULEN's 2008 First Round Mock Draft.

I made a mock last year just before the draft. Thought I'd make it again this year and see how close I can get. Feel free to comment.

1. J.Long - The signing of Long draws out a sketch of how the top of the draft will pan out.

2. C.Long - Dorsey seems mighty tempting, but DE is such a big need for the Rams.

3. G.Dorsey - The Falcons are estatic the Dorsey is available @ #3. Dorsey will be an immediate starter and will open things up for Abraham and Anderson.

4. D.McFadden - Raiders get their long awaited playmaker they have been needing for the past decade. McFadden will be a huge threat in the redzone and Shannahan is pulling his hair out.

5. M.Ryan - The recent trade of Allen for the Vikings first pick gives the Chiefs flexibility with their first pick. Herm takes his franchise QB that the team desperately needs and will use the remainder of the picks to build around Ryan.

6. V.Gholston - The Jets were unable to trade up and stay put and draft their passrusher that will line up opposite of Pace.

7. L.McKelvin - With the departure of Samuel, the Patriots select McKelvin who will instantly line up at LCB.

8. S.Ellis - Ravens always stick true to their board and draft BPA. Ellis gives the Ravens versatility and a nice interior rotation when they go into the 46 formation.

9. D.Harvey - The loss of Pollack really hurts but so does the Ravens selecting Ellis. Harvey for RDOPY barring injury.

10. M.Jenkins - Jason David, what can I say. Mike McKenzie is glad he'll finally get to see balls thrown his way for a change.

11. D.Thomas - A reach IMO, but Thomas slides up in a shaky WR class. Evans takes Thomas under his wing to help him develop and hopes he gets to see single coverage for the upcoming season.

12. R.Mendenhall - Shannahan decides to drop the RBBC approach and takes the tough nosed kid out of Illinois. They adress the Tackle positon later in the draft.

13. R.Clady - Foxx needs to protect Delhomme, we all saw how underrated he is as a QB and how badly they needed him in the lineup. Gross gets kicked out the the right where he played his best ball and Wharton gets moved back to guard.

14. C.Williams - That line is a mess. No depth at all and had very poor play last year.

15. J.Mayo - Marinelli gets Sims some help so he doesn't have to make every play on that porous Defense.

16. D. Rogers-Cromartie - Rolle gets moved to FS permantly to ballhawk the secondary. They get the much needed help.

17. B.Albert - KC gets Ryan's new BFF. The war room goes crazy and call J.Allen to thank him.

18. K.Rivers - Kubiak doesn't reach for a CB but is happy they get a playmaker at LB to line up next to DeMeco.

19. J.Otah - William, Tra? What's his name now? Must be listening to Diddy way too much. Plus Reid and McNabb are having flashback of Week 4. Osi is disappointed to find out he wont be lining up against Justice anymore.

20. L.Sweed - Gruden brings in some fresh blood at WR. Hopefully Sweed picks up a thing or two from Galloway unlike Porter did from Rice/Brown.

21. P.Merling - Too bad Greg Williams never got the DE he needed for his Kamikaze D. Blache will get the best out of the relentless Merling.

22. J.Stewart - The Barbarian wants a monster type contract. Too bad JJ doesn't see him as an everydown back.

23. K.Balmer - Tomlin gets a player that gives him flexibility to switch into a hybrid 34/Cover 2 D to ease the conversion.

24. D.Jackson - Don't let the size fool you. He will beat your team deep and open space up for Troupe in the middle and create running lanes for Vince to pick up extra yardage.

25. M.Kelly - First it was Darrell, then it was Hackett that left. Branch and Burleson were huge disappointments and a waste of money. Holmgren has DeJaVu of Koren Robinson again and hopes the second times the charm.

26. L.Jackson - Spicer is getting up there in age and is nothing special. Hayward was never able to get back to form after cashing in due to a knee injury.

27. G.Cherilus - Olivea robbed Spanos at the end of '06 and disappeared for the 07 season. He's somewhere in So Cal enjoying the sun.

28. A.Talib - With the help from Deion, Tuna gambles in hopes to keep Talib out of trouble. Newman says money isn't a issue but with high contracts flying left and right and him turning 30 this season he might be having second thoughts.

29. J.Hardy - Poor Alex Smith. Yeah right, poor Hardy. His QB can barely hold the ball with those midget hands. Dun Dun Dun Duuuun!!! Shaun Hill the great to the rescue!!!

30. B.Flowers - With Harris and Woodson on the outside, Flowers can be brought in slowly to play nickle and get up to speed in the NFL. Antoine Winfield anyone?

31. D.Connor - They passed up on Poz last year and Kiwi at LB just doesn't sound right. Everyone knows Kiwi will be moved to DE once Strahan decides to hang up the cleats. Good thing Connor can actually tackle and wrap in the open field unlike Kiwi.

Stewart would be a bad pair with Barber... they have similar styles. They need a speed back. Felix Jones is the pick. Stewart will be picked no later than Arizona so it's a moot point.

Alright, Jones aside, Stewart -- if by some weird chance is still on the board -- doesn't fit what Dallas needs. They are looking for a compliment, not a replacement IMO.

Who do you think would be the pick?

I think having 2 picks in the first gives them flexibility. They can draft for a replacement or for depth.

I think it isn't bad but what if Saints trade up to #2 and pick up Glen then what? and also i think if C.Long is gone before #4 then the raiders will draft down
