Was the Jets one supposed to be:
Raiders trade #3/4 to the Jets for #6, 3rd round and Vilma? Because that would make more sense.

lmao NONE are logical. The 1st and 2nd one we get way too much. The 3rd one we give up way too much. Go look up the word logical.

Why do people want to give up our first for Williams? He is in the last year of his contract and had a par season last year, plus they are stacked at WR. They would take our second round pick for him. Fabian and our first? That gives me de ja vu of the Randy Moss trade.

I like the 1st and the 3rd (which I assume includes their 1st pick), but the 2nd, we need more value. Throw in James Marten or Doug Free or a 2nd in '09.

I'm more interested in trying to trade some of the players away from the Raiders for picks. Like Brayton, Washington, Sims and Schweigert. Yeah, I know this would be a difficult thing to accomplish, but dreamin ' is still free, right?

I had broken down the first trade in another post of mine some time ago. Granted I added Jordan into the mix but his value is fairly negligible. Quote:
So according to this I value Roy Williams as a late 1st round or a high second round draft pick. With that said I doubt they could get more than a 2nd for him due to his contract status and his past health concerns. Rogers is kind of an unknown because of his determination to play in the NFL. But either way I think he does not have a value higher than a 2nd either. I rate Fabian, especially in a Tampa 2 where his speed will really allow him to shine, about a 2nd and remember we got a 2nd and a 3rd for Buchanan who was half the player Washington is. So by Math, 3/4 = 2200/1800 15 = 1050 Roy Williams (High Second lets say #5) = 530 Shaun Rogers (Mid Second lets say #15) 430 Fabian Washington (Mid/late Second lets say #20) = 380 Therefore Scenario 1, Oakland at #3 2200 + 380 - (1050 + 530 + 430) = 2580 - 2010 = 570 overage Scenario 2, Oakland at #4 1800 + 380 - (1050 + 530 + 430) = 2180 - 2010 = 170 overage Play with all the numbers as you wish but a Roy Williams who is a premier WR in the league but who has a desire to go to Texas, is in his last year of his contract, and has only played one full year healthy in the NFL is not a Randy Moss type of deal. He is in my opinion a little more than a Javon Walker or Dion Branch type deal. Both were had for a 2nd or low 1st. Shaun Rogers with weight problems, motivation problems, knee problems, and cannot play an entire game is not a premier player either in this league. Say what you want but the trade IS logical. |
