Clean House..remove unactive accounts
I just had a suggestion I was looking at the members list and there is like 7140 members listed. Thats a TON of people. But then you look as some of those people and some joined back in 02, 03 and what not and only have made 1 post. Now i know it would hurt the overall number but why not get rid of some of these accounts?. Now if some of them have a special place or something like that then fine i understand. But too me if you have all these usernames used up and not being used. New members may want to use a name but cant cause its already taken by someone who isnt really here. Just an idea i had. If you want you can put a time limit on some of the newer accounts and give them like 6 or 8 months and if they dont reply at least once in that time frame then delete the accont. HOWEVER if they are a paid patron then they should be kept til their subscription is up.

Some people join and never post. They just view the site.

I am one of the many who doesn't post for whatever reason. I visit the site all day long and would be upset if my account was closed just because I chose to not make post.

Yea we realize that many people come here to get Raiders updates. Read posts and do not post much or at all. All good bro

Thanks for the suggestion!
The 7140 members listed only equates to less then 1/2 the total registered member base of 21,000+. The members that make up the 7140, are part of a specific usergroup, which is why they appear on the site.
We have thousands of members who signed up just to read the site, without being interested in posting. I would hate to remove their accounts, because they don't post...

I would suggest the same thing, but with the accounts that haven't logged in for about over 4 or 5 years or however long these forums have been up. The people who log in at least every month or two are fine, but if there's no activity from the account in over a couple of years, why not scrap them?

Truly, though, what does it matter??
Plus it would be a lot of work figuring out who to keep and who not to keep. I know many members who never post. Wouldn't that suck if you found out that you've gotten the boot for no reason other than the fact you haven't posted in a few years? Yep, that would suck.
Let it go.

Should have stated that I wouldn't care that much if it were actually done or not. Just thought I would contribute something to the topic. I digress.
I'm not talking about people who don't post, I'm pointing out the accounts that haven't logged in. I just don't see someone who hasn't logged in for 3 to 4 years (for whatever reason) actually coming back. If they do, I'm sure they could re-open it or make a new one. I agree that it would be a lot of work though and could cause some agitated users, JMO.

I see what you're saying H.Brown and why. I imagine some may not even log in but possibly view the site and read. I understand what you are saying though and that you were just making a helpful suggestion
