Daunte's Inferno

Coming off a season of record breaking proportions in terms of OFFENSIVE anemia if I were to poll every member of the Raider Nation located here on Planet Earth whether or not they'd like a top 5 NFL QB to command the huddle and lead their team in the 07-08 season the answer would be unanimous.
When healthy Daunte Culpepper has proven that he's capable of being just that. In fact he was arguably the 2nd best quarterback in the league only three seasons ago behind Peyton Manning who set the league on fire with his record breaking 49 TD passes which ultimately won him the MVP trophy.
If not for the unbelievable numbers Manning posted Culpepper would've had the MVP trophy locked. All he did that year was throw for 39 TD's to only 10 INT's completed nearly 70% of his passes and had a passer rating of 110.9.
Three seasons ago also marks the last time Daunte Culpepper was healthy. In the 06 season he was rushed back from knee surgery before his rehab 100% completed. The much maligned and then Dolphin head coach Nick Saban desperate to get things turned around threw Daunte into the fire prematurely. This got him ripped by the Miami media and laid the groundwork to what would turn out to be a bitter divorce between he and the Dolphins.
Culpepper's career in Miami didn't even last 4 games. His knee hadn't fully healed and he sat out the rest of the year to fully recover.
After trading for Trent Green the writing was on the wall for Culpepper as the Miami Dolphins had other plans for the QB position. He showed up to mini camp obliviouis to those plans assuming Green was brought in to create a healthy competition for the Dolphins starting job.
Eventually Culpepper was asked to exit the practice field , leave the Dolphins facility and never return. Talk about an awkward moment and slap in the face. You can bet your bottom dollar that all has not been forgotten.
The Miami Dolphins loss is the Oakland Raiders gain and if in fact Culpepper is as healthy as he seemed to look this preseason then you'd better bet the house on a certain game coming up on September 30th.
Who plays on that day you ask? Well the Oakland Raiders led by Daunte Culpepper visit the Miami Dolphins that day that's all. You think Culpepper has that date circled on his calendar?
The Scornful wrath of Daunte's Inferno will be on full display against the Dolphins come that Sunday afternoon. And for his sake and sake of the Raider Nation it will be sweet revenge at it's finest!
