2008 Raiders: No More Excuses.

Right here right now with the opening statement. Let stop the crap. No matter how you break down the what ifs, whys, coulda, woulda, and shouldas. 19-61in 5 years does not justify Just Win Baby. If it sounds negative then tough titties. Stop reading right now. Do something else. Eat a corn dog and read Vanity Fair. Yes things look good on paper. So just a woman that tells you she looks like Lauren London on paper in reality she looks like Gargamel with a weave. Positive results make positve enviroments.

(Example) When Bill Clinton was president gas prices weren't as high and people had jobs. That was positive. Now people are broke and gas is 5 dollars a gallon. Im suppose to still be positive?

(Back to football) Win games and you get a more positive feed back.

Al Davis has rewarded numerous players with high pay. Now its time for all those players to produce and win games. Its time for Tommy Kelly, Terdell Sands, and Gerald Warren to anchor a defensive line that stops the run and causes havoc for opposing QBs. Its time for Michael Huff who is going to have more freedom at FS to make plays and make tackles.

Its time for Jake Grove to step up and show why he was a second round draft picked center. Its time for Robert Gallery to be more consistent with his play and stop making drive killing mental mistakes (false starts, holdings). If the Raiders think that Kwame Harris can be productive at Left Tackle then who and I to argue? Im no coach. Im no scout. But if that (Kwame Harris) is the best that they have to put at that position I expect him to fully be productive and be much better in passing than the swinging gate I saw that played for the 49ers almost allow Alex Smith to become (missing spleen) Chris Simms.

And how about this people. How about we wait and see how at least the first series of a regular season game goes before we start predicting wins and loses? Jesus Christ. How many times do I have to preach that Preseason means nothing. The cheerleaders don't even put on make up for preseason games. We as Raider fans should know this by know. How many preseason hall of famers have we seen? Madre Hill, Teyo Johnson, Aaron Brooks, Kerry Collins, Doug Gabriel, Johnnie Morant, Carlos Francis, Ken-Yon Rambo, etc

And as soon as the regular season lights go on they have all disapeared like Manute Bol in a black jump suit in a bat cave. Gone.

I just think its a bit premature to say because the Raiders are improved (on paper) they are a lock to beat Denver opening game. Are you nuts? Do you think Denver isn't going to be improved? We still have not proved we can tackle a RB yet. You know the Broncos just signed Michael Pittman. Yea that Michael Pittman that ran all over, around, and through the Raiders in the superbowl. And don't give me this manure about oh he's old...

Let me tell you something. Ron Dayne looked like Earl Cambell in Oakland last year. And I know this ain't last years Raiders but until we actually see a Raider defense tackle and stop the run thats all we have to go by.

The bottom line is this. Its time to win games now. I don't wanna hear no more excuses.No more Noodle arm McCown and small hands Culpepper. JaMarcus has been working his a** off and is our franchise QB. He will make strides and take his lumps. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes and gets better because he is the Raiders long term QB.

I expect nothing less than the same productivity out of the RBs if not better with the addition of D-Mac. And I want to see this guy, who some claim to be the second coming of Gale Sayers, make some big plays. I want to see why he was picked # 4 overall against NFL defenses. This ain't the SEC.

I expect Javon Walker who was paid Randy Moss money to be productive as a Randy Moss. With the money he got he should have nothing short of 1000 yards receiving and 10TDs.

God bless all the season ticket holders. Raider Ran, Candy, Front Row Fan, S1, all yall. Al Davis should do something real nice for you people, especially for continuing to hand over the $$ you have to the Raiders Organization over the years. Al should take yall out to a 6 star resturant, or give yall a free gas card for a year for continuing to pay the money yall have continued to pay even when the Raiders were damn near unwatchable. Yall were right there. Props for that.

Last and not least I expect the Raiders to win games. Because god damn it we the fans deserve it.
