Are the Raiders attacking the offseason correctly?

Posted 03-30-2008 at 12:32 AM by dollar
It is a common opinion that you build your team through draft picks and use free agency to decorate it with the few missing stars. It seems to me the Raiders are doing it the other way around. We have signed Javon Walker, Drew Carter, Kwame Harris, Gibril Wilsonand most recently Kalimba Edwards, we also traded our second draft pick for DeAngelo Hall and now the rumor is that we'd trade next years 2nd and 4th, Fabian Washington (who could be a good slot CB) and Stu (worthless player) for Chad Johnson....

Hype?? We don't need no stinking HYPE!!

Posted 03-29-2008 at 10:05 PM by Attyla
With the end of March in sight, the annual passage to NFL manhood begins as teams jockey for position in preparation for the NFL draft. As a message board junky, I can tell you that the passion fans have for the draft may be at an all time high as teams are literally being bombarded by the strong opinions of the fans.

On this site alone, not a day goes by without at least a couple new draft threads. Informed fans continue to express their desires for the selection the Raiders possess...

My Oakland Raiders Story

Posted 03-29-2008 at 11:50 AM by JayCee
A slightly cut version was already up on raiders.com, but for those who haven't read it yet, this is the story about how I became a Raider fan.
Special thanks to WookieRaider for the help, raiders.com for the awesome prize and of course my Dad, Boon H. Chew.

As a fan I put all my heart and the entirety of my soul into each and every game. I read every article and post on fan boards. I watch or listen to every game the Raiders play no matter what the time difference....

JayCee's beer of the week! Today: Franziskaner

Posted 03-29-2008 at 06:20 AM by JayCee
ALERT! ALERT!

This is probably the best German brew out there. Franziskaner is an excellent Hefeweizen from the famous Spaten brewery. If you don't like Hefeweizen, this one will make you like them. Very smooth, nice color and a mind exploding taste. The banana taste is a little less than on other Hefeweizen's. There is a beautiful citrusy body and surprisingly peppery spicy finishing. A 12oz bottle is around $1.5 in the US.
This beer is my personal recommendation!

So far, so good/great or so what?

Posted 03-15-2008 at 01:48 AM by Brazy
To exbound on the thread by 81Whitey:

Offseason: let's grade it out...

The Salary Cap implications of the below be damed, I'm talking strickly blocking, tackling, running, throwing and catching.

DEPARTURES:

Porter: In the mirror, he's an under achiever. In person, he's another waste of talent, who never worked hard enough to become above average. Not giving him more money for nothing was a great idea.
Grade A+

Kelly

Posted 03-14-2008 at 03:51 AM by Ozzzzzzy
Tv reporters just repeat what the here and read, They think they now more about Kelly than Coach Ryan. If he thinks hes worth 50 milllion he probably is I think so. He led the team in sacks 3 years ago and only played behind sapp because sapps sapp. Sapp could still play tackle butt kelly's better now.

Draft day is soon approaching

Posted 03-14-2008 at 02:29 AM by Raider Realtor
I have been looking at mock drafts lately and some so called experts are predicting that the Raiders may be drafting Darren McFadden. Anyone have an opinion as to who we should choose. Any stud recievers in this years draft?
McFadden will be a great running back but do we draft him right after signing Justin Fargas to a big contract?

JayCee's beer of the week! Today: Maximator

Posted 03-11-2008 at 07:33 PM by JayCee
Augustiner's Maximator is a rich German Doppelbock at 7.5%.
The taste is malty/ caramel and hops with a nice clean fruity and bitter finishing note.
Pours rather thick, almost like a liquor, dark red/ brown in color.
The good thing about Maximator is the price. Compared to some of the similar Belgian beers, this one is just as good and lot cheaper in the US.
Best served at 5 °C (41 °F)

Enjoy

The milk Carton Project

Posted 03-10-2008 at 12:11 AM by Attyla
It may sound funny, but Raider fans will soon be lobbying to have Lane Kiffin's face plastered on milk cartons around the bay area. His absence from pretty much every activity since the close of the season has begun to make a weary nation a bit edgy.

As of right now, the sightings of the coach have been limited to a brief stop at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, and the Senior Bowl. In both instances, he was reported to be dressed generically rather than in his Raider gear. That...
