Philip Rivers
As a huge NC State fan, I watched Rivers all throughout his college career. This guy was way more talented than Eli or Rothelisberger, just has been buried behind Drew Brees on the Chargers bench. Now that the Chargers and Brees are talking a long-term deal, how do you think Rivers would do in Oakland?

Now you all know that there is no way that SD would trade him to us...

Too bad he held out when he did, and gave Brees a chance to find new life. I think he'll either stay buried behind Brees for the length of his contract, or be traded somewhere out of the AFC west.
I didn't see him play much, except for a couple series in his first pre-season. The thing that stands out in my mind was an outstanding open-field tackle he made after throwing a pick. It would have made a linebacker coach proud.
Maybe we could sign him and convert him to linebacker?

No way the Chargers trade him to anybody with Brees coming off a surgery, and definetly wouldn't trade him to us.

There is talk that Rivers is getting tested on the market for what they can get for him, but I'm sure if we tried they wouldn't even listen to us.

In that case let's dream that we go back in a time machine and get Bo - Pre-injury, and Joe montana, Johnny Unitas and Dan Marino in their prime. While we are at it, let's bring back some linemen and Timmy in his prime, so he can finally get a ring.

Brees may miss the start of the year. The Chargers are in good cap situation thus Rivers is going nowhere.
